Benoit Pulward is a Belgian comedic actor with a philosophical approach to life

Belgian actor Benoit Pulward, whose films are very special, was born September 22, 1964 in the small town of Namur in the family of a chauffeur and grocer. The father died when his son was barely fifteen years old. Benoit decided to leave the house and earn money on the side to help his mother. The teenager did not have a profession, that's why he got a job as an assistant director on technical issues.

Theater

Once in the evening performance Benoit Pulward replaced one of the actors. His unusual appearance, humorous facial expression became an occasion for a closer evaluation by the directors, who saw in the young assistant a certain performing potential. So Benoit Pulward quickly turned from a working stage into a characteristic theatrical actor.

In addition to participating in the productions, Benoit took up artistic photography and in a short time achieved significant success in this business. His works were exhibited at various exhibitions and thematic shows.

To improve his skills, Benoit Pulward became an auditor at the Brussels School of Graphics. There he met with the famous Belgian actor Belvo Remi, who, in addition to filming in film projects, was engaged in producing and directing activities. The new acquaintances had many common interests, and they became friends. Soon Benoit had another friend, André Bonzel, who was also a professional cinematographer. Having united, three friends made an inexpensive short film called "Unemployment manual - not for Daniel Daniel".

The first masterpiece

In 1992, the creative trio (Benoit Pulward, Andre Bonzel and Remy Belvo) created a full-length film "A Man Bites a Dog", which produced a real sensation and received flattering reviews from critics. The film was awarded the André Kavans Award in the nomination "The Best Film of the Year".

After such a success, Benoit Pulward decided to go solo on the projects of the comedy genre that the popular channel Canal + needed. He became the author of two humorous programs, such as "Magazines of the city of Manatan" and "Never in Big Never", thus earning the reputation of a talented comedian.

Main roles

However, the actor soon became cramped with television programs, and he returned to the big cinema, starring in the films "The Travelers" and "Podium". Then Benoit Pulward, whose films became increasingly popular, played the role of an adventurer and card player named Reggio in the movie "Full Drive", staged in 2002 by director Alain Berberyan. This was Benoit's second main role.

A year earlier, the actor played his first major role, creating the image of cyclist Gislena Lambert in the film Philippe Arel "Cyclist."

Awards

In 2002 Benoît Pulward became a laureate of the prestigious Jean Gaben Award , which was presented to him with the wording "encouraging young talent". Two years later, the actor himself became a member of the jury of the film festival, chaired by Quentin Tarantino, a great admirer of his work.
