Car bulbs H11: description, specifications
Sooner or later, drivers face the need to replace automobile lamps - this is a natural order. Each car uses several types of lamps. Today, more and more automakers are installing in the optics of H11 bulbs. What are these elements, what characteristics do they have, what kinds of lamps exist? All this worries the car owners. Let's try to answer these questions.
Scope of use
These lamps give a very bright and powerful light. They are widely used in compact headlamps as dipped-beam lamps, as well as in any optical instruments. This is the most balanced light bulb from all those that are available today, moreover, this type of socle is considered one of the most common. There are halogen bulbs H11 and LED. The peculiarity of this socle is that it provides a higher power of the lamp - the maximum is 55 W, while with socles of other types, for example - H8, no more than 35 W of power is provided.
Halogen lamps
Halogen optical elements are one of the types of lamps inside which the entire space is filled with a special gas. These may be halogen bromine or iodine vapor. The bulb of this bulb is more often made of quartz glass - this glass is particularly stable, withstands high temperatures and the influence of various chemicals. Thanks to a special design, the H11 halogen bulbs have high technical characteristics and are distinguished by a powerful light flux. Among the advantages of halogen bulbs is a high degree of light output. These lamps illuminate the road well, and the spectrum of light bulbs is yellow, which is more favorably perceived by human eyesight. The second major advantage is the compact size. Such elements can be used in small devices, such as additional lights. Often the base H11 can be found in fog optics.
Overview and testing of H11 lamps
Specialists conducted independent testing of the most popular products. Tested lamps for the car in different conditions. The rating includes only the best and most effective representatives. Thus, during the test, the level of illumination at various distances was measured, and the illumination of the roadsides was also recorded. The luminous flux was monitored at a height of 1 m from the surface of the pavement.
Osram Night Breacker Unlimited
This is one of the brightest representatives in the market of optical instruments. These bulbs in the headlights consist of a radiator, a current and voltage stabilizer, lenses and LEDs of increased brightness. To feel the maximum performance of the product, it is necessary to apply to it 12 V. This bulb is capable of delivering 55 watts of power, with a glow temperature of 4000 K. To remove excess heat, an aluminum alloy radiator is used. The light that this lamp emits can be either cold or warm (white). The composition of the halogen is optimized to exclude any decrease in the transparency of the bulb. The lamp is equipped with a filter from ultraviolet - this will completely eliminate the turbidity of the plastic.
Koito Whitebeam H11
These are halogen bulbs in headlights from a Japanese company. Their technical characteristics are also very high - these devices can be safely attributed to the market leaders. Elements are designed for 12 V supply voltage and are capable of delivering 55 watts of power, equivalent to 100 watts of a conventional incandescent lamp. The manufacturer claims that the luminescence temperature is 4000 K, and the light itself has a xenon effect. The glow is close to daylight without yellowing. If you study in detail the design of this product, the manufacturer uses ready-made plinths manufactured under the Philips brand for the assembly of bulbs.
As the results of the tests show, there are no problems with lamps with illumination of the terrain. But the temperature of the light does not correspond to what the Japanese say in the technical specifications. Those who purchased this lamp claim that it gives a strong light of bright yellow color, and any effect of xenon is completely absent. In addition, during operation, there was a weak resistance to vibrations and shaking - the dipped beam was constantly out of order when driving off-road. But aside from the shortcomings, there are advantages in this Japanese product. The yellow shade very well illuminates everything that is next to the car, in wet weather. The special color temperature makes Koito a good choice as a fog lamp. The roadside is illuminated at 10-15 m.
MTF Light Palladium
This is another halogen bulb H11 (12V, 55W). It is produced in South Korea. On technical characteristics, this product is in no way inferior to the previous versions. The product has a metal diffuser of heat - this will not allow the plastic parts to break up. In addition, the llama flask has a special coating, which protects against ultraviolet radiation.
LED analogues
These products are produced most often by anonymous Chinese manufacturers, which promise a bright light to the buyer, a power of at least halogen lamps and a level of luminescence comparable to xenon. In fact, this is not true. In 95% of cases - this is a fraud. But there are quality options.
Characteristics of LED elements
The regular halogen bulb H11 55w is capable of providing a light flux of 1350 lm. They are used as dipped-beam lamps and in fog lamps. LED optical elements are also divided into two types. Distinct models for fog lamps are weaker than 700 lm and for dipped beam power of more than 1350 lm.
Advantages and disadvantages
These optical elements with a H11 cap have a lot of positive qualities that cover minor disadvantages. The most expensive of all - a bulb H11. The price is 20-50 dollars - and this is its only drawback. But the LEDs have already proven themselves as one of the options for car tuning, which allows not only to make the headlight brighter, but also to change the shade of its glow. Among the advantages are a huge number of color solutions that allow you to choose the most optimal option. To operate these lamps, less energy is needed, which is better for the battery. Thanks to these lamps, it is possible to reduce fuel consumption. These models, in contrast to halogen, better tolerate vibration and shaking, voltage surges in the on-board network, temperature changes. These products can often be turned on and off, but do not be afraid of their failure. The base H11 in the LED version is heated to low temperatures, and also the glass of the headlight is not heated - the risk of deformation is completely excluded.
Types and types of LED lamps H11
As in the case of halogen light, the H11 diode models are offered in several types. Often the main criteria are the number of LEDs, the purpose and the lens. Each variant is characterized by its technical characteristics - power, light transmission level and other important parameters.
H11 155DM2323
Here the manufacturer offers fourteen LEDs. This allows you to give a brightness level of up to 1200 lm at a maximum power of 15 watts. This is one of the brightest LED headlights. The manufacturer positions it as a driving light. The glow is white and pure. This solution can supplement the xenon light.
H11 12Epistar HP + 4 Cree
Here, in addition to diodes, there is a special lens.
As for the number of diodes, there are sixteen. This option is considered one of the most expensive, but in terms of technical characteristics - this is the optimal purchase. This level of brightness will no longer produce a single bulb. The brightness is 2520 lm. The power is 80 watts.
Summary
The modern market offers a large selection of lamps for a car with a modern and versatile base for every taste, different types and characteristics. The H11 cap is perfect for extra lights and the main light. The choice includes LED and halogen lamps with high characteristics. We examined the pros and cons of both products. Which one to choose is up to you.
