The element helps to rotate the hub in different positions. The part itself has a conical shape with a ball tip (from which also a specific name), which simultaneously swings and rotates. Thus, the ball bearing "Lada Largus" ensures the rotation of the hub, keeping the wheel itself in the horizontal plane. In this case, the disk can move freely in an upright position (when the machine hits a pit or any other irregularity).

Possible malfunctions

In 90 percent of cases, the reason for the failure of the ball joint is a leaky anther. It is a small piece of rubber that covers the joints. Over time, the dust cover cracks and crackles. As a result, water and dirt get inside, acting like an abrasive. Also in the support are formed and corrosion processes, which significantly reduce its resource. Getting Started

So, how is the Lada Largus ball joint replaced? First, we need to loosen the bolts of the wheel (if there are "secrets", unscrew them). Next, hang out the front of the car, using a jack. After that, detach the rod of the stabilizer bar. If there is metal protection of the engine, we remove it.

Then, using the head "for 16" unscrew the nut of the bolt, which pulls the ball ball with a pivot. On the other hand, hold the bolt with a key of the same diameter. We take the element out. At the next stage, unscrew the nut of the rear bolt of the suspension arm. We will need a head with a ratchet "for 18", as well as a car key of the same size. Last, we will keep the part from turning (as in the previous case). Then we take the bolt out. If it is tight, knock out with a slotted screwdriver. Now you can safely remove the lever out. But that is not all.

Remove the support from the lever

Now, when the element is removed from the car, we proceed to disassemble it. Using a screwdriver, we support the support for the shoulder. Extrude ball from the lever, leaning on its edge. Next, look at the state of the element itself. The hole in the lever should not have cracks or any ruptures. If everything is in order, we clean it of dirt with rags soaked in gasoline or white spirit, and proceed to press the new support. To do this, we need to insert the part into the hole and put under the lever a piece of pipe of a suitable diameter. With light strokes of the hammer we press the element into the grooves. Take care that there is no distortion. After that, the lever assembly with the ball can be installed in place. The assembly procedure is carried out in the same manner in the reverse order.

Tightening torques

When assembling, it is important to tighten all the screws correctly. So, the nuts of fastening the silent blocks of the lever are tightened with a force of 105 Nm. The connecting rod is 21 Nm. The bolt that pulls the swivel fist and ball is tightened with an effort of 62 Nm.

After successful replacement of the ball joint, be sure to go through the adjustment procedure of the camber-toe. The angles of the position of the wheels after repair can change, which will cause uneven wear and tear of the machine to the side.

Repair parts or recovery?

Ball joints are subject to repair only in the case of small workings. But it's hard to do it yourself. The cost of restoring spherical supports in the SRT - about a thousand rubles.
