Cleaning the injectors - an event that helps to avoid additional costs

In the event that you feel a decrease in power while driving, you feel jerks and dips when you press the pedal, an unstable idling and an increased fuel consumption are observed , and the car's operation became unstable, it is quite possible that the reason for this is the coking of the injectors. This term is understood as the clogging of solid resinous deposits of the nozzle channels, through which fuel must flow.

If the nozzle becomes dirty, the fuel is spilled from it, which leads to a deterioration in its mixing with air. This leads to a decrease in the performance of the entire fuel system of the car. A rational solution in this situation is cleaning the injectors. This procedure will restore the former coherence of the functioning of all machine systems without significant monetary costs.

To date, cleaning the nozzles is done in several ways:

• Flushing with fuel additives;
• Hand washing with special fluids;
• Washing with special liquids on the stand;
• Ultrasonic cleaning of injectors.

It is worth noting that only the first two methods are feasible in "field" conditions. The remaining 2 methods should be implemented by professionals in car service centers.

The most effective (and at the same time accessible) method is cleaning the nozzles with your own hands using special fluids. The following components are required for this procedure:

• Washing liquid;
• button;
• 2 identical wires along the length;
• insulating tape;
• tool;
• battery;
• A tube made of silicone with a diameter of 5 mm.

To date, there are many types of washing liquids, however, they are practically the same from each other. In this case, it is preferable to purchase 2 cans of 0.25 liters per 1 can of 0.5 liters. This is due to a significant reduction in pressure in a large can as it is emptied.

2 hours before the procedure for cleaning the injectors, leave the car alone. Such a measure will help prevent fuel spillage during the main works, because after the downtime the pressure in the fuel system of the car is minimal. Before the cleaning of the injectors is started, it is necessary to remove them from the vehicle. To do this, you need to dismantle the fuel rail. After you can remove each of the injectors. In addition, before starting cleaning, it is necessary to conduct several preparatory stages:

1. Ensure a reliable connection between the nozzle and the can with a silicone tube.
2. Bring the current to the injector. To do this, a button is placed in the break of any of the wires by twisting. It is needed so that the current can be supplied impulsively. One end of each of the wires is connected to the battery, and the other to the injector. When the button is pressed, the current starts to flow to the injector. To stop feeding, simply release the button.

Before cleaning, the nozzles must be cleaned from the outside. After this, it is desirable to remove all rubber parts, since the washing liquid promotes their swelling and deformation. The washing itself is carried out in several stages:

1. Pressing the spray gun.
2. Clicking on the button.
3. Cleaning of injectors with washing liquid. It is carried out until the spray becomes uniform.
4. Re-rinsing to wash out the remaining deposits.

This completes the washing of the injectors.
