"Bugatti Veyron": the history of the most powerful and high-speed car

The fastest and most powerful, and therefore expensive on the planet car, whose exploitation is allowed on all public highways, is the Bugatti Veyron. This car is named after the legendary racer Pierre Veyron, who in the same car became the triumpher of the Le Mans race, which took place back in 1939. The debut of the model took place in 1999 during the Car Show in Tokyo. Its visitors were shown a conceptual version of a car with a capacity of 6.3 liters and a capacity of 555 "horses". It should be noted and the fact that the W-shaped engine had 18 cylinders located in three separate blocks.

Two years later, at the Geneva exhibition, the company exhibited a nearly completely redesigned modification. Under its hood appeared power plant, consisting of two V-shaped "eights." Significantly changed and the appearance of the novelty, which really looked like a sports car. The serial production of Bugatti Veyron, the price of which is about 1.7 million euros, was supposed to start in 2003, but this period was repeatedly shifted due to the need for improvements. They were mainly associated with problems that appeared when driving at a speed of about 350 km / h due to the not quite correct functioning of the wing. Since that time the model has been improved many times. The last of the variations of the 2013 model car was named Bugatti Super Veyron.

The machine weighs almost two tons. A large part of this mass comes from the power plant, which is capable of developing a "hundred" from its place in just two and a half seconds. To reach the mark of 200 km / h, the car needs 7.3 seconds, and 300 km / h - 16.7 seconds. Despite such stunning abilities of "Bugatti Veyron", one can not help noticing her driving at comparatively low speeds. For driving on 250 km / h the car uses only 270 horsepowers. The corresponding indicator is displayed on a special sensor on the dashboard, which has a scale of 1001 divisions.

An interesting engineering solution for the model was the closing of the diffusers installed on the front bumper. This allows to significantly reduce the air resistance. This is also promoted by the aerodynamic spoiler. "Bugatti Veyron" is not just the fastest serial car in history, but also the most dynamic. On the other hand, the car is different and a huge consumption of fuel. Its maximum value for a hundred kilometers of run (with a fully open throttle) is 125 liters. At the same time, the actual consumption in standard conditions for the urban cycle was declared by the manufacturer at 40.4 liters, for the mixed one - 24.1 liters, and for the highway - 14.7 liters.

For daily use, the car has a speed limit of 337 km / h. To allow "Bugatti Veyron" to reach higher indicators, you must first activate the appropriate mode at the expense of a special key. Electronic speed limiter in the car is at around 407 km / h. The model is equipped with carbon brake discs and calipers for eight pistons. This allows you to ensure full stop at maximum speed in just ten seconds. Moreover, the car on its braking track is constantly on a straight path, even if the driver releases the steering wheel.
