AvtoVAZ is a large Russian company specializing in the production of passenger cars. From its conveyor came such legendary models as "six", "nine", "ninety-nine". The whole world knows them. It is worth noting that these machines still conquer roads, not only Russian, but also near abroad. However, progress does not stand still. AvtoVAZ in 2004 began the production of the completely new model of the Kalina at that time. This lineup was opened by a sedan, later a hatchback was developed. And, finally, in 2014 a new car appeared - Lada Kalina NFR R 1, replenishing the segment of sports cars.

A bit of history

As already mentioned above, in 2014 the domestic company introduced its new "child". This car is classified as racing. For the first time he made his debut on the track near Moscow in the framework of the WTCC championship. Experts highly appreciated the capabilities of Lada Kalina NFR R1, calling the car a "hot monster." Later, just a few months later, the model was exhibited for the general public at the international auto show held in the Russian capital. Novelty was accepted with a bang. Experts predicted that the car will be the exclusive domestic automotive industry. And it should be noted that these statements are not groundless. The start of sales of Lada Kalina NFR (see photo in the article) began at the end of 2015.

Dimensions of the novelty

The new "Lada" became the successor of the "Sport" model. The car is released with the hatchback version of the body, as well as the previous version. Its dimensions did not change and fully correspond to its predecessor. The length of the body is 3943 mm, the outer width is 1700 mm, the height is 1450 mm. However, there is a difference between the models. These are wheel disks. In Lada Kalina NFR they are increased. Now their sizes are 17 inches. What about the wheelbase? There are also no special changes. Distance between the axles does not exceed 2478 mm. However, such indicators make the car the most stable when performing steep maneuvers.

Just want to note that waiting for the most new elements in the exterior of the car is not worth it. It differs from the "Lada Sport" model only by small changes, which can be called faster completion, rather than the introduction of something new and original. First of all, let's focus on the holes that appear on the hood cover. This innovation is very useful, given the appointment of Lada Kalina NFR. It does not play a special design role, but for the engine such outlets are very important. With their help, the unit is able to cool faster.

The bumper is very large and bulky, its design is quite complicated. On its sides you can see special compartments, which are designed for fog. The latter are performed in a fairly simple round form. In the middle there is a large radiator grille with smooth borders without angularity. The optics of the head light is made in the form of a rectangle, however, the lower part of the headlights has a roundness that gives some softness. Sideways a clear window-sill is clearly visible, but the roof has a characteristic slant to the rear. The windows are large, the visibility is good. In the rear of the bumper is small. On the sides there are "stops". The headlights are very large, occupying almost the top half of the body. They start from the roof itself and end in the middle of the wing. Summing up, the exterior can be called not striking, but dynamic.

Interior

Lada Kalina NFR (photo of interior see below) inside is simply identical to the model "Sport". The first thing that catches your eye is powerful seats with good enough lateral support. It perfectly keeps the driver during the tough maneuvers. The instrument panel is multifunctional. There is an onboard computer, a multimedia screen, a heating system and so on. Steering wheel sports type, but without control buttons. A small control panel is installed on the driver's door. On it are buttons that are responsible for the power windows, locks and other locks.

A significant advantage of all "Kalin" is the spaciousness of the salon. This car is no exception. Passengers of the rear row, even with an increase of 180 cm will not feel cramped. Now let's talk about the pronounced details that are borrowed from the predecessor. The first thing that catches your eye is the orange line. Its manufacturer uses both on the finish of the steering wheel, and on the seats. Virtually all the elements that are in the salon of the new "Lada" are already familiar to car enthusiasts in the old models, and even non-sporting line.

Specifications

So, having studied the external and internal design, many will ask: what is the feature of the car? After all, with detailed consideration there is nothing interesting and extremely new in it. But the highlight in Lada Kalina NFR is still there. And it hides under the hood. The manufacturer installed a modernized engine on the model. For its basis the VAZ-21127 unit is taken. The power plant is a four-cylinder engine with a volume of 1.6 liters. Cylinders are arranged in a row, equipped with distributed fuel injection.
