What is the brake disc for?
At the moment, the most common brake system of cars - disk. From the name it follows that the main part of this system is the brake disc. The principle of the system is that the brake pads slow the rotation of the brake disc, pressing against it. At the same time, the brake disc and the brake shoe are heated during friction.
Heating the brake discs can lead to loss of efficiency during braking. This problem is solved by improving the heat sink from the brakes. For this purpose, for example, a brake disc with ventilation is created. This ventilation can be represented as a system of internal channels (then the disk is called ventilated) or as a system of through holes perpendicular to the working surface (perforated disk). The advantage of perforation is that, in addition to more efficient cooling, friction wear products are removed from the friction zone. In addition to special discs for their cooling, special wheel disks of a certain shape or different air ducts in the body parts (bumpers, wings, thresholds, etc.) are used.
Malfunctions
The brake disc can not work forever. Due to constant heating and friction, the parts of the brake system wear out and become unsuitable for further use. Everyone knows what the consequences are for the driver with worn out shoes. Failure of brakes can lead to an accident or to the breakdown of other parts of the car.
VAZ brake discs
On the majority of VAZ front-wheel drive vehicles, the rear brakes are drum-type. Unfortunately, they are not as efficient as disk drives. Therefore, some owners prefer to replace the drum brakes with disc brakes . Now this is not very difficult. The advantages of disc brakes are that, in addition to their higher efficiency, they are easy to replace, they can be visually observed for wear and tear without removing the wheels. You can use the front brake discs models VAZ 2110, VAZ 2108 (13 inches) and VAZ 2112 (14 inches). These discs are vented and fit the rear axle. It is worthwhile to clarify that the front discs should be 1-2 inches larger than the rear ones in order to avoid "rearranging" the rear axle.
ATE Brake Discs
Every car owner should take care of the safety of his and others. To do this, he must install quality parts on his car.
