Bogorodskoe cemetery. In Moscow and in the suburbs

When it comes to the Bogorodskoe cemetery, there are often a number of misunderstandings. They are explained by the simple fact that there are two cemeteries with this name. There are all known in the east of Moscow. And besides, since the nineties of the last century, there is also the Bogorodskoye cemetery in the Noginsk district of the Moscow region. And they are not to be confused, it is by no means the same thing. They have only the same names.

On the left bank of the Yauza River

One of the oldest in Moscow, the Bogorodskoye cemetery is located in the Eastern administrative district of the capital. It was founded in the middle of the eighteenth century near the village of Bogorodsky, which entered the line of Moscow only in 1902. Today it is a small cemetery of urban type, the only architectural landmark of which is a stone chapel erected over the grave of the archpriest of the Church of the Savior-Transfiguration. Landscaping leaves much to be desired, in a decent condition are only the central avenues. Apparently, the city budget does not have sufficient funds to fix the Bogorodskoye cemetery. Monuments and crosses have long warped or completely collapsed. Desolation is evident, and often the question arises about the further fate of this historical-memorial object. But no decisions on this matter so far in the administrative circles are not accepted. Bogorodskoe cemetery has long been no longer the category of acting. Nevertheless, there are still sometimes related graves.

In the Noginsk district

And since 1992, forty kilometers east of Moscow, the new Bogorodskoye Cemetery operates. The Moscow region thus began to have a toponym that fully coincided with the name of the municipal facility on the territory of the capital. Usually such coincidences in the formation of new territories are avoided. But Moscow and Moscow region are different subjects of the Federation. The new Bogorodskoe cemetery is located two kilometers east of the village of Timokhovo. In the cemetery the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was erected, certain works on landscaping and landscaping are underway. Burial places are produced quite actively. And we can confidently say that, in view of the exhaustion of vacant areas in cemeteries near Moscow, this process will continue to grow. Among the notable burials in the new Bogorodsky cemetery, it is worth noting the grave of unidentified soldiers who died in the First Chechen War.

How to get to the new Bogorodsky cemetery?

To go here follows from the metro station "Novogireevo" of the Kalininskaya metro line. From here, a fixed-route taxi number 387 is sent.
