Beautiful hyacinth. Cultivation at home

To date, there are about 30 different kinds of hyacinths. Until recently, this flowering plant was referred to the family of lilies. However, in reality it was not so. Therefore, a separate family of hyacinths was isolated.

These beautiful flowers in the wild can be seen everywhere in Central Asia. Often they are found in the Mediterranean. True, mostly in its eastern part. Hyacinth is a symbol of grief, as evidenced by an ancient Greek legend. On it this charming flower arose in memory of the pet of Apollo, the son of the king of the glorified Sparta, Hyacinth.

Hyacinth itself is a perennial and beautiful bulbous plant. Its attractiveness and attention to the flower was due to the original inflorescence. These are original bells that are collected in a whole brush in the idea of a spikelet. The arrow on which the flowers blossom can reach a length of about 40 cm. The aroma from the hyacinth extends very far. No wonder the essential oil of this plant is used to create fragrant compositions.

You can have a hyacinth at home. Growing it will not cause much trouble. However, it is necessary to spend the time, in order to achieve active flowering. The stripping of beautiful and neat plants usually takes place in several stages.

How to grow hyacinth at home. Classic Edition

First you need to buy hyacinth. Growing it will be successful if the bulb is purchased at the end of the summer. And it should be heavy, and the bottom - ideally whole. Of course, beforehand each such bulb should be germinated in the open ground. Only in this case, at home, it will be possible to obtain a charming plant that pleases the eye.

Only in October (preferably at the very beginning) the bulbs are planted. First you need to prepare pots and soil. They should be no more than 10 cm in diameter and thoroughly washed. To obtain a healthy hyacinth, the growth takes place in sandy loamy soil.

Plant the bulb in such a way that the upper part of it is approximately at the same level with the edges of the pot. Only 2/3 of the bulb remains in the ground. Immediately after planting, the hyacinth must necessarily be covered with something. It can be a film or even a paper. Often this function is performed by another, empty pot. In this state, the plant goes to coolness. There, at a temperature of about 8 degrees germs germinate within 12 weeks. As soon as small shoots have reached at least centimeters 9-10, the flower is exposed to the burning sun. It happens usually in December.

In a light room for the hyacinth, the temperature should be about 25 degrees. And it is often watered and sprayed every day. This continues until the buds appear on the plant. About a month later hyacinth, the cultivation of which in principle does not bring much trouble, starts to bloom. Lasts for about 3 weeks.

Hyacinth. Growing a house in water

There is a very interesting way to get beautiful hyacinths from bulbs at home. To do this, it is placed in a vase, where there is already water with dissolved fertilizers in it. It is worth considering one moment. The bulb should not touch the water (only slightly). To stand such a vase with hyacinth should be in a dark and cool room, until the plant does not let the roots into the water. Every 2 weeks the water changes in the vase. And every time the necessary fertilizers for the active growth of the flower are mixed there.

As soon as the roots appear, the vase gets into the bright room at the most sunny place, where the bulb already starts its shoots and then starts to bloom abundantly.

After the hyacinth fades, next year he will be able to give at home only weak, small flowers. However, this is not an excuse to be upset. There is always the opportunity to buy new bulbs, and old ones to plant on a flower bed in the garden.
