Childhood and youth

Michael Bashakov was born in Leningrad on July 1, 1964. In elementary school he studied piano. But then he abandoned the music for sports and returned to it, being already a teenager. Michael himself, without teachers, learned to play the guitar and began to compose songs. After leaving school, trying to understand what to do in this life, he studied for a year at the vocational school. Mikhail Bashakov, however, realized that this occupation was not for him. He submitted documents to the jazz school on the street. Saltykov-Shchedrin, tk. Decided to become a drummer.

In the first year of the school in 1981, together with his school buddy guitarist Kostya Makarov, they created their own group "Paradise Chicks", which acted in various teenage clubs and existed for two years.

The beginning of the creative biography

Not graduating from college, Michael leaves to work in a national film studio in the recreation center named after Kirov. Here he mounts, picks up music for the produced shorts and even shoots a few tapes for his scripts.

During the work at the studio Mikhail Bashakov, whose biography is full of unexpected life turns, meets the singer and artist Vladimir Dukharin - "Spirit", who played a significant role in his life. This acquaintance spurred Bashakov to serious study of German classical philosophy, painting and self-education.

After a while, Mikhail Bashakov, together with Dukharin, created the band Trikster. Before it became known, it was replaced not by one musician. But only with the arrival of bass player Mikhail Dubov, "Trikter" won its first title, becoming the winner of the Second Rock Festival in Cherepovets. After the composition of the group was bayanist saxophonist Pavel Kashin, she was fully staffed and changed her name to "Spirits."

The group "Perfume" successfully performed at the VII Rock Festival. After that, her touring began. The first concert season of the band was marked by participation in a number of actions at the festival of the magazine "Aurora", recorded at the studio of "Aquarium" in the Palace of Culture of Communication, in the Palace of Railwaymen and at the studio of E. Pieha.

V. Dukharin took the stage decoration of the concerts of "Dukhov". During the absence of Kashin, he was replaced by multi-instrumentalist Mikhail Smirnov, who remained in the group. In 1990, "Spirits" recorded a vinyl album "Happiness", which in 1991 sold out in large numbers.

In the autumn of 1991, "Spirits" took part in the festival "Europe + Asia", held in Chelyabinsk, began working on a new album, which never came out.
After leaving the group Pavel Kashin, the team tried to stay afloat: played in clubs, tried to record, but it was going to the sunset, and the "Spirits" disappeared unnoticed. Each of the band members went their own way. Bashakov Mikhail for a time disappeared from sight.

The creative experiments of Mikhail Bashakov

In 1994, on the initiative of Bashakov and Sulina, a duet appeared, and then a trio of "Parachutes Hi-Fi", performing music in the style of techno. The band has successfully performed in St. Petersburg clubs for a year, has toured in Switzerland, but after the return has broken up.

Mikhail Bashakov decided for himself that he was finished with music, and got a job as a DJ on the St. Petersburg radio station "Baltika".

But in 1996, in the life of Michael again there was an unexpected turn. Thanks to the support of one of the fans, Bashakov was able to give several acoustic concerts. In the same period his cooperation with Kashin, which became a famous performer in the domestic pop music market, was renewed, but continued to sing Bashakov's songs and "Dukhov" at his concerts.

So, as a result of the merger of the Calypso Blues Band and Bashakov's songs, "Bashakov-Band" appeared. The first concert was held on March 27, 1998. The band recorded the album "The Sun Under the Wing", which consisted entirely of Bashakov's new songs.

After the default in the country, Mikhail went on a free voyage. In 2000, Bashakov-Band appeared in the new composition. In addition to concerts with "Band" Michael participated in the actions of the creative community "Mighty Kuchka". Gradually the word "band" from the name was removed and the "Bashakov" remained.

In subsequent years, Mikhail Bashakov, for the most part, performed solo or a small acoustic composition. Independently published the album "The Best".
