Basal skin

Basal cell skin is the most common malignant neoplasm. It is a tumor of the skin, consisting of all layers of the epidermis and appendages of the skin.

Basal cell skin never metastasizes, but it is characterized by malignant growth: it grows very quickly and reaches considerable dimensions, disfigures a person, breaks the barrier function of the skin. Most often, this disease develops in people after 50 years, in women it is more common than in men. In 90% of cases, it is the basal face of the facial skin that makes the patients even more uncomfortable.

What are the forms of the disease?

There is a superficial, tumor, ulcerative, pigmentary and scleroderm-like basal cell skin.

The first form is manifested in the form of an oval or rounded focus of pink color. Tumor has the form of nodular formation, approximately 0.5 cm in diameter, which rises against the background of unchanged skin. Its surface is smooth, the vascular pattern is clearly visible, there may be eroded areas covered with crusts. The ulcer form can appear both as a primary lesion and as a complication of other forms of basal cell carcinoma. This tumor is expressed by a ulcer of rather large sizes (from 10 cm in diameter), surrounded by a pronounced roller. A basal cell tumor of this form can be accompanied by destruction of the underlying soft and bony tissues. Pigmentary basal cell skin is accompanied by staining of the lesion, which sometimes creates additional problems in a differentiated diagnosis with melanocytic neoplasms. Scleroderm-like form of the disease looks like a dense whitish plaque with places of continued growth along the edges.

To diagnose this disease using scraping or puncture, a cytological examination is performed . In the case of proper sampling, this method is 100% effective. In order to prevent further development of the disease and disfigurement of the appearance, this tumor is removed. In the overwhelming case, this leads to recovery. But sometimes the basal cell skin after surgery has a better chance of recovery only in the case of early detection and an unblocked condition.

Radiation treatment of basal cell carcinoma is possible in the earliest stages of the disease. Surgical treatment is indicated for tumors of small sizes, and combined - in far advanced stages. First, the irradiation is carried out, after that the neoplasm is excised within the healthy tissues. There is also a cryogenic method of treatment, which is sometimes enhanced by ultrasound. This method has no contraindications and does not require anesthesia. After the operation of removing basal cells, chemotherapy is usually ineffective. A very gentle and effective method of treatment is the introduction into the surrounding area and into it of the leukocyte human injectable interferon. The most difficult to treat are tumors localized in the eye angle, on the skin of the eyelids, the inner surface of the auricles.

Also used and non-traditional methods of treatment basali: the use of decoctions of various herbs, infusions, kerosene and even dried frogs. But all these events have no scientific justification. Wonderful healings in these cases are more of an exception than the actual effect of the treatment. An alternative method of treating basal cells that has a scientific basis is the use of reverse transcriptase inhibitors.

This tumor has a favorable prognosis: with timely treatment, you can permanently get rid of the disease by up to 90% of patients. If we are talking about single entities, this indicator increases to 100%.
