Contagious molluscum in a child, skin treatment

Of course, when children suffer, this frustrates their parents. Despite this, we periodically encounter some or other of the health problems of our children, so it will be better if we recognize the "enemy" in time and know how to deal with it.

Skin problem - molluscum contagiosum

A common skin disease is the molluscum contagiosum in a child. Treatment is not known to everyone, so it makes sense to talk a little about it. If your baby is faced with this problem, do not panic. After all, this will not affect the general condition of the body in any way, since it is not so much an illness as a cosmetic defect.

Interestingly, quite often within a year the molluscum contagiosum in children disappears independently. Komarovsky reported this many times. If the number of these mollusks starts to increase, then you need to contact a specialized specialist who will choose the appropriate treatment or remove them.

Symptoms

Let's look at the clinical picture of such a disease as a molluscum contagiosum in children, the causes of which are few. Basically, this happens with direct contact with the patient. After a while on the affected area of the skin appear pimples of small size or rashes that have a flesh, pink or white color.

The diameter of these rashes is about five millimeters, and the center is slightly impressed inward. If you ignore molluscum contagiosum in a child, treatment is not to be done - the growths will begin to reach one and a half centimeters and rise on the foot.

Treatment

This skin problem is eliminated in three ways. Primary - the molluscum contagiosum is removed from the child. Treatment in this case is carried out with the help of ordinary tweezers. It should be noted that recently many began to abandon this method in favor of others because the fluid released from the rash contains a lot of mollusc inclusions capable of damaging healthy skin when it hits it.

Because of this, you have to repeat this procedure several times, and this has a negative effect on the child. But if such treatment is prescribed, after removal, always treat the wounds with iodine or manganese solution for one week. Otherwise, the disease can return.

But, as you probably already understood, this is not the only way by which a molluscum contagiosum is removed from a child. Treatment can also be performed cryosurgically. In this case, the affected area is affected by liquid nitrogen. The advantages of this therapy are its painlessness, as well as the absence of scars.

Laser rash removal is also practiced. The affected area heats up to one hundred and fifty degrees, resulting in the evaporation of mollusks. But here there is one inconvenience, which is that the patient is then forbidden to wash for several days.

Prevention

Regardless of the method of treatment, together with the latter, prevention should also be carried out. This is the disinfection of toys, the thermal treatment of clothes, etc. For a while, it is not necessary to attend a kindergarten.
