The script for the Rumyantsev Case was written by Heifitz in collaboration with the writer Yuri Herman, who also worked on screenings for the Belinsky, My Dear Man, and Give Paw, Friend!

The main character of Joseph Kheifits's detective film is an ordinary driver who was ordered to smuggle goods. Alexander Rumyantsev does not even suspect that he is lucky. When he is arrested by the OBKHS, he finds it difficult to independently refute his guilt. As a result, the chauffeur-trucker will have to endure lengthy interrogations, false accusations, until he is acquitted.

Alexander Rumyantsev - an honest workaholic - was played by artist Alexei Batalov. The fate of the actors of the film "The Rumyantsev Case" took shape in different ways, but Batalov managed to become the most famous celebrity.

Aleksey Vladimirovich was born in Vladimir near Moscow in the family of a director and an actress. A little later his mother married another man - the famous writer Victor Ardov.

Batalov graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School in 1950. But in the movie, the artist appeared much earlier: his debut was in 1944, when little Alyosha was entrusted with the role of a schoolboy in the drama "Zoe." The next appearance on the screen is connected with 1954 and the role in the drama "The Big Family", for which Batalov received the ICF prize in Cannes.

On the account of Batalov a lot of cinematographic and government awards. But much more important is the contribution to the cinema that the artist made: he played unforgettable characters in the pictures "Moscow does not believe in tears," "My Dear Man," "The Lady with the Dog," "Purely English Murder" and "Ricky-Tikki-Tavi" .

When Alexander Rumyantsev gets to the police, a certain Captain Samokhin undertakes to investigate his case. He does not really understand the essence of the problem and, it seems, is ready to imprison anyone, just to close the case. But then on the horizon appears the self-sacrificing police colonel Afanasyev, who reveals the crime and punishes the guilty. In the film "The Rumyantsev Case", actors Sergei Lukyanov and Pyotr Lobanov play virtually "good" and "evil" policemen.

Sergei Lukyanov may not be known to the modern spectator, but in the 50's he was very popular due to his leading role in the comedy "Kuban Cossacks". In "Twelfth Night" Ian Frid Lukyanov played Antonio, and in "Captain's Daughter" directed by Kaplunovsky - Emelian Pugachev.

The last of his role Lukyanov played in 1964 in the detective Nikolai Rosantsev "State criminal."

Other performers of roles

In the film "The Rumyantsev Case" actors Alexei Batalov and Ninel Podgornaya played the bride and groom. Of course, Claudia Naumenko did not believe in Rumyantsev's guilt until the last and waited for his release. Ninel Podgornaya is a People's Artist of Russia. Basically, she worked in the theater, in the movie Podgornaya appeared only three times.

Actor Gennady Yukhtin played a close friend of the driver Rumyantsev. Yukhtin practically began his film career with the film Kheifitsa. Subsequently, he played engineer Krushenkov in "Spring on Zarechnaya Street," Sergei Pavlov in the "Ballad of a Soldier" and a liaison in the "Aqualungs on the bottom."

Evgeny Leonov, like Gennady Yukhtin, got the role of the driver in the picture. In "Rumyantsev's case" the actor starred in the very beginning of his career. Much later in his filmography there were such hits as "Striped Flight", "Gentlemen of Fortune" and "Zigzag of Fortune".

Also in the filming was Nikolai Kryuchkov, known for the films "The Battle of Stalingrad" and "Sadko."
