Therefore, it is better to find out whether there are such drugs, the potential effect of which will not be worse than the drug "Elidel", and the cost of them will be even less.

The basis of the "Elidel" ointment

Numerous positive reviews indicate a high level of effectiveness and considerable popularity among the consumer masses of the drug "Elidel". The cream, analogues of which are widely used both in the domestic market of medical preparations, and abroad, is considered a very versatile tool. The main component of this 1% ointment is pimecrolimus. In addition, the composition also includes substances such as sodium cetostearyl sulphate, purified water, sodium hydroxide, oleic and stearyl alcohols, benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol, mono-, di- and triglycerides, citric acid. The standard release of the drug is carried out in tubes having volumes of 15, 30 and 100 g.

Possible analogues of the "Elidel" ointment

In practice, the treatment of dermatological and other inflammatory skin diseases, both in domestic and in foreign medicine, often replacing the main drug, analogues. "Elidel" was no exception. Most of these drugs have pharmacological properties similar to their prototype. But, unfortunately, today in the CIS countries the "Elidel" preparation is a cream, analogues of which are almost impossible to find, since none of the means repeats its structural component basis. Nevertheless, one of the most common drugs in our time, capable of compiling the "Elidel" medication with acceptable competition, is the "Advantan" ointment.

How does the main analogue of the "Elidel" ointment work?

This drug is a glucocorticosteroid, intended for external treatment of the epidermis. It is able to suppress any reactions of an allergic and inflammatory nature to the skin, the cause of which is increased proliferation. The cream "Advantan" has the ability to destroy visual symptoms, which include swelling, erythema, just as the "Elidel" means. Ointment also eliminates all manifestations of subjective sensations (pain, itching, irritation, etc.).

Indications and contraindications to the use of the cream "Advantan"

The drug is prescribed for any diseases associated with inflammation of the skin. This includes various types of dermatitis (allergic, atopic, contact, etc.) and differing in the form of manifestation of eczema (microbial, true, degenerative, etc.). Sometimes the remedy can also be useful for relieving the symptoms of a sunburn, called photodermatitis.

According to the instructions provided by the manufacturer, the drug is prohibited for use by patients with increased sensitivity to its components. You can not use it also in the presence of cutaneous tuberculosis, viral lesions of the body (herpes, chicken pox, lichen) in the areas on which the cream is applied. Children under 4 months of age ointment is also categorically contraindicated.

When deciding which ointment to choose - "Advantan" or "Elidel" Should be guided not only by the cost, but also by the real characteristics inherent in this or that drug, since not always treatment by these two means will be equivalent in result and degree of influence for a particular person.

Method of application and variety of the preparation

Like the cream "Elidel", the ointment "Advantan" should be prescribed only on the basis of this or that condition of the epidermis. This product is perfect for moderately dry skin, since the ratio of components based on water and fat in it is optimally balanced. If there are wet areas on the body, it is best to give preference to the cream, since the fat level in it is small, and the predominant component is water. For burns from the sun, a good solution will be an emulsion. Just like its counterparts, "Elidel" should not be kept on the skin for too long. The drug "Advantan" should be applied a thin layer once a day directly to those areas of the skin that are affected by the disease, and this method is suitable for children (treatment - no more than 4 weeks), and for adults (not more than 12 weeks) .

Special cases of using the "Advantan" ointment

Some situations, in particular bacterial dermatoses and dermatomycoses, require the use of this drug along with special antibacterial treatment. It is important to avoid getting the ointment on the mucous membrane of the eyes while applying it to the face. It is worth remembering that the use of drugs such a pharmacological group can cause the development of glaucoma, so you should carefully monitor the amount of the drug and the correctness of its application to the skin around the eyes. Pregnant and lactating women are advised to begin treatment with the "Advantan" ointment, which in no case can be treated with mammary glands, only after the doctor assesses the potential risk to the health of both the mother and the child. Also, you do not need to keep the drug on your skin for too long, otherwise it can only aggravate the disease without bringing any positive effect.

Side effects and overdose of the drug "Advantan"

If incorrectly used, any analogues can be dangerous. "Elidel" must be applied strictly in accordance with the guidelines for its use. As for the drug "Advantan", with proper observance of instructions and overdose, and cumulation is excluded. However, as already mentioned, too long to keep the product on the skin is not necessary, because because of this, atrophy of the epidermis manifested in its thinning can develop. With this outcome, treatment with Advantan ointment is recommended to be suspended.

Speaking about the side effects of the drug, it should be noted that there are usually no problems during its application. In very rare cases, itching, burning, vesicle rash, erythema may occur. As mentioned above, prolonged exposure to the ointment on a large area of the body can cause atrophy of the skin and lead to the appearance of striae. However, the clinical studies of the drug "Advantan" proved that during the pilot tests on it no manifestations of previously listed side effects were noted.

Of course, there are other analogues, very similar in description with the cream "Elidel". Their price is absolutely different (from 140 to 500 rubles). This, for example, medicines "Akortin", "Apulein", "Bronal", "Videastim", "Berlikort" and many others. But when choosing a remedy for the treatment of skin diseases, it is still not necessary to focus only on its low cost. It is better to trust the opinion of a professional doctor and choose for himself the drug that will match all the features of a particular type of body and body cover as a whole.
