Adaptogens of plant origin: list. Adaptogens are ...

The human body is affected daily by various biological, chemical and physical factors. All of them can have a positive and negative impact on the work of vital organs and systems. Adaptogens are a group of drugs capable of supporting the functioning of the human immune system at a sufficient level and increasing its resistance to pathological factors.

General concepts

Adaptation of the organism to changes in the external environment is regulated by the work of the nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular system. Each of them reacts to the action of stimuli with a definite answer. For example, changes in heart rate, blood pressure, vasoconstriction, hormonal bursts.

The action of adaptogens is based on the ability to increase nonspecific forces and balance the state of the organism with the external environment. The effect of drugs is determined by their chemical composition and biologically active substances. The composition of funds includes such specific substances:

  • Glycosides;
  • Flavonoids;
  • Polysaccharides;
  • Glycopeptides.

Adaptogens: a list of tools

The division of adaptogens into groups occurs on the basis of their origin:

  1. Preparations that have a vegetable origin are ginger, astragalus, rhodiola rosea, sea buckthorn, lemongrass, echinacea, levzeya.
  2. Natural adaptogens based on fossil plants - humic substances.
  3. A means of mineral origin is a mummy.
  4. Adaptogens of animal origin - "Cigapan", "Pantocrinus" (based on young horns of reindeer), "Apilak" (a product of bee production).
  5. Synthetic drugs - "Trekrezan".

All these products are available in various forms: in powders, capsules and tablets, alcohol tinctures, infusions and extracts.

Mechanism of action of drugs on the body

Adaptogens are a mechanism by which an increase in resistance to harmful environmental factors occurs. They do not refer to drugs or vitamins. The use of these funds includes internal reserves of immune forces, which helps to normalize the level of glucose and cholesterol, calm the nervous system, quickly recover after a painful condition.

Adaptogens are drugs that help restore the body in such cases:

  • After infectious diseases;
  • In the case of a sharp temperature drop;
  • After considerable physical exertion;
  • After oxygen starvation;
  • In case of poisoning with toxic substances.

Adaptogens of plant origin (list) are able to improve cellular metabolism, awaken hidden forces of internal organs, increase the efficiency of the human body, provide anti-stress effect due to blocking of oxidation in acute stressful situations. The role of drugs is proven by observations and medical statistics.

Means are able not only to stimulate the central nervous system, but also to soothe it. The use of medium or high doses of the drug strengthens mental processes and increases efficiency. Elevated doses can cause irritability, overexcitation and loss of sleep. The use of small doses, on the contrary, acts soothingly and improves sleep.

Ginseng

Herbaceous plant, belonging to the family of the Aral. The drug on its basis is used as an adaptogen, restorative and immunostimulating agent. It stimulates appetite, strengthens metabolic processes, and has an antiemetic effect. The root of ginseng is used to make medicinal teas, tinctures, infusions, extracts.

Its influence on the human body has acquired the plant due to its rich chemical structure. Its active ingredients include saponins, peptides, polysaccharides, essential oils, vitamins B, C, PP, folate and pantothenic acid, macro- and microelements.

Indications for the use of preparations based on ginseng:

  • arterial hypertension;
  • neurasthenia;
  • neurosis;
  • Convalescence after disease;
  • Dystonia by hypotonic type.

It stimulates the central nervous system, normalizes blood pressure, reduces cholesterol and sugar in the blood, activates the work of the adrenal glands, stimulates the reproductive system.

Eleutherococcus spiny

Tinctures of adaptogens, including prickly eleutherococcus, are the most common form of stimulant use. This remedy, like ginseng, belongs to the Aralievs. Eleutherococcus is able to influence the human body as follows:

  • Increases blood pressure;
  • Used for overwork of the central nervous system and physical exertion;
  • Tones the body with the progression of weakness.

The effectiveness of the drug is high, but the action is short. With infectious diseases, sleep disorders, hyperthermia and nervous overexcitation, the drug is contraindicated.

Rhodiola rosea

The plant is known as the "golden root". This name was given to the rhodiola due to the golden color of its rhizome. Its medicinal properties the plant received due to the chemical active substances in the composition. Rhodiola contains essential oils, glucose, organic acids, flavonoids, microelements.

The alcohol extract of the plant is used in the therapy of conditions:

  • For stimulation of the nervous system;
  • With neurasthenic diseases and asthenia;
  • To increase the efficiency and normalization of sleep;
  • For treatment of vegetative-vascular dystonia ;
  • In psychiatry;
  • For rehabilitation after severe diseases of a somatic or infectious genesis.

The drug has antitumor, antiviral and antibacterial effects. Water-alcohol extract is used to combat addiction to narcotic drugs. In addition, the drug is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, tuberculosis, skin diseases, fractures, jaundice, conjunctivitis and other pathological conditions.

Ginger

This is a perennial plant, the rhizome of which has found wide application in the medical and pharmacological sphere. As a tincture, the remedy is used to treat arthritis, arthrosis, peptic ulcer, atherosclerosis, normalization of metabolic processes.

Decoction of ginger root with the addition of honey and lemon strengthens the body, enhances immunity, is used as an additional tool in the therapy of acute respiratory viral diseases.

Chinese Schisandra

The agent has a more pronounced excitatory effect than the other adaptogenes of plant origin. It must be taken during periods of greatest mental and physical activity. For example, during the exams or sports competitions.

Tincture of Chinese magnolia vine is used to improve the work of the gastrointestinal tract, digestion processes. In addition, the drug is used to restore visual acuity.

Zamaniha

The plant is similar in structure and chemical composition to ginseng, so its effect is approximately the same. Indications for the use of funds based on zamaniha: high blood pressure, sleep disorders, neurological disorders, the need to regulate metabolic processes.

Mumiyo

Not only plant adaptogens are able to have a beneficial effect on the human body, strengthening it and increasing working capacity, but also preparations of mineral origin. Mumiyo is an organic product in the form of dark pieces of dense consistency, which are in the frame of a resinous substance. The drug has a specific specific odor.

Mumiyo is used to strengthen the immune system in patients after severe infectious diseases, oncological processes, in the postoperative period and in the period of convalescence. The drug is available in the form of tablets. Take it in childhood is not recommended.

"Trembled"

Synthetic adaptogens are preparations developed under laboratory conditions, which have a similar structure with natural immunomodulators. The effectiveness of the drug is based on the stimulation of interferon production and cellular immunity.

"Trekrezan" is able to increase mental and physical performance, accelerate the process of adaptation to changes from climatic conditions, as well as increase resistance to stressful situations.

"Apilak"

"Animals" adaptogens are preparations based on extracts from animal organisms, which are a biogenic stimulator of metabolic processes and a strengthening agent. "Apilak" is created on the basis of the dried secret, produced by bees. It has in its composition a large number of vitamins, amino acids, trace elements, cholinesterase and acetylcholine.

Indications for use "Apilaka":

  • Hypotrophy and anorexia;
  • Menopause in women;
  • Chronic pathology of digestion;
  • Arterial hypotension of various etiologies;
  • In combination with other drugs for the treatment of neurasthenia;
  • Seborrhea;
  • Violation of potency in men against a background of stressful situations.

The drug is available in the form of tablets and ointments for external use. Eczema, neurodermatitis, dermatosis, diaper rash are indications for the therapy of skin diseases using a royal jelly-based remedy. The drug is allowed to take infants and young children.

Adverse effects of adaptogens

Even the best adaptogens can have certain side effects when used. Most of the stimulant drugs have good tolerability, however, their incorrect application can cause disturbances in sleep and wakefulness, headaches, tachycardia, arterial hypertension, lowering of blood sugar, allergic manifestations.

A complete list of side effects is indicated in the instructions that are attached to each of the drugs.

How to take medications?

Treatment with adaptogens occurs according to the scheme chosen for each specific agent. Selection of the dosage is carried out by a specialist, since the sensitivity to the drugs in each patient is individual. In the first days of use, the minimum recommended dose should be taken in the morning or before lunch.

It is necessary to follow the reaction of your body, after using the initial doses. If the drug is effective, you can increase the dose by one drop. So continue until the optimal stimulating effect is preserved without the appearance of side effects.

If you experience symptoms of nervous overexcitation or insomnia, you must cancel the drug before consulting your doctor or reduce the dose you are taking.

Adaptogens of plant origin (list) have certain recommendations for use:

  1. Prescription medications should be taken before lunch to avoid sleep disturbances.
  2. Adaptogens should be taken by courses, taking breaks.
