A.T. Tvardovsky. "Vasily Terkin". It is unlikely that there will be a person who has not heard about this creation of the great poet. He studied at school, based on the work put the performances and make films. What is so famous poem in poetry? Why for 70 years now it has not ceased to disturb the hearts of readers, makes them laugh, experience, live the life of the hero?

This poem is one of the most important, most significant works created during and after the war.

About the heroes and heroism, many wrote. Often for the praise of exploits or teachings, they forgot about the main thing. For us, what the soldiers did was a feat. For them - an ordinary life. Difficult, dangerous, but ... life. They did not see the feat in saving the Motherland, that they live in inhuman conditions. They thought little of the fact that they might perish. Tvardovsky first showed the collective feat of a Soviet soldier in his "domestic conditions."

When the writer had an idea to write the poem "Vasily Terkin", Tvardovsky represented the fighter not as he later portrayed it in the poem. Only by 1942 the poet had the image of a fighter: cheerful, cheerful, fervent, smiling with any difficulties.

He does not look like a classic hero with strong-willed features and a manly posture. But, funny and joker, he behaves heroically in the chapter "Crossing", personifies the worker in the chapter "Two fighters".

That's exactly how real heroes Tvardovsky saw. Vasily Terkin is no exception.

Comparing it with a fascist soldier, Tvardovsky again and again declares his idea that heroism is not an individual feat, it is not a showy desire to save the Motherland or comrades. Heroism is the ability to be both a defender and a worker, a warrior and a cheerful interlocutor, a fighter and a joker. The hero understands that behind him is Russia, his Motherland. Therefore, he hates the enemy, so he drives him from his land, but he considers it his work, which must be done on conscience.

Tvardovsky wrote not only about the fighter. "Vasily Terkin" is a discussion about the Motherland, big and small, memories of the past and dreams of the future. But these are dreams of a simple, peaceful person, not a professional military man. No wonder the hum of an airplane in one of the chapters of Terkin compares with the buzzing of a bumblebee. This antithesis helps to feel deeply the image of the Russian warrior who defended the Motherland.

The protagonist of the poet is not even Terkin, but war: cruel, inhuman, killing in people all the good that generates hatred. And the more significant is the image of a soldier who managed to save in dire circumstances human dignity, love of Russia, the ability not to lose heart and not to lose heart.

Speaking about the merits of the poem, one should mention one more unique quality, which Tvardovsky possessed. "Vasily Terkin" is written in such poetic, vivid and at the same time popular language that is not perceived as a great work. This is an ordinary conversation with a soldier. Long fought, many who saw, but retained their folk roots, their spontaneity and love for people.

Even then, in 1942, the author did not doubt: with people like Terkin, we will certainly win the war. Time has shown that he was not mistaken.
