Why did not the cauliflower get stuck? We will find out the answer to this question

Many vegetables are quite demanding of the environment. Often farmers are puzzled why the cauliflower is not tied up. The cause of failure may be incorrect selection of the variety, and improper application of fertilizers, and inaccuracies in care. Let's dwell on each point in detail.

Variety choice

Many varieties and hybrids of the vegetable are of foreign origin. They are sensitive to "our" fluctuations in humidity and temperature. And in extreme conditions (a sharp cooling gives way to rapid warming) do not tie the heads.

The sort depends on the grade and the time of sowing, which must be strictly observed. Late sow in such a way that the period of tying fell on not very hot weather. Some summer residents do not take into account this agrotechnical requirement, and then they ask: "Why did not the cauliflower start?" The secret of cultivation is that the heads are formed at a temperature of no higher than 18 degrees. On cold nights, development is slower, but the head is bigger.

Seeds of almost all varieties can germinate at a temperature of 4 degrees. In our latitudes, for a period of growth, high temperatures occur. Inflorescences under such conditions can form, but will be loose, granular.

Application of fertilizers

Even experienced gardener sometimes can not understand why cauliflower was not tied up. It can be in the wrong application of fertilizers. If the head is "overfeed", then the harvest will be a large bouquet of cabbage leaves.

During the vegetation, no more than 3 feeding should be done. The first is carried out two weeks after planting the seedlings (a mixture of 10 liters of water, 0.5 liters of liquid mullein, 1 tbsp of mineral fertilizer). The second is carried out fourteen days after the first. The working solution is water (10 l), ammonium nitrate (30 g), boric acid (2 g), potassium chloride (2 g), superphosphate (40 g).

Cabbage is not tied up - what should I do? Carry out a third top dressing during the period of head formation with a solution of water (8 liters), mullein (1 liter), ammonium nitrate (27 g), superphosphate (27 g), calcium chloride (18 g). Vegetables also respond well to fresh chicken manure and the introduction of trace elements such as molybdenum and boron. Shortage of boron leads to looseness and premature exfoliation of the inflorescences. Deficiency of molybdenum leads to a small number or absence of leaves, late tying of heads, lagging behind their growth.

Errors in care

Why did not the cauliflower get stuck, if the variety was chosen correctly, and all the fertilizers were introduced? Perhaps, the culture is not properly maintained. Already when growing seedlings, you need to follow a certain algorithm. It is prepared 60 days before landing in the ground. Before emergence, the temperature should be no higher than 22 degrees and no lower than 20. When the plant begins to grow, the daytime temperature should be 8-10 degrees and 6-8 at night. In this period it is important to provide light and moderate watering. If you comply with all these conditions, then the seedlings will grow squat, strong, with a powerful, resistant to unfavorable conditions of the root system.

The question is urgent: "What can I do to get a cabbage?" It should be remembered here that this culture is very hygrophilous. She does not tolerate interruptions in irrigation. During the formation of the rosette of leaves and tying the head, it needs a lot of water, so water it more and more often.

So, we have considered all the reasons why the head is not tied up. Remember that cauliflower requires scrupulous care, from seed selection and planting seedlings to harvesting. Failure to comply with the conditions of agricultural technology can lead to low yields or, in general, to its absence.
