Who is a marginal? Characteristic features and features

You've probably heard such a thing many times as "marginal", but far from everyone knows the true meaning of this phenomenon. Who is a marginal? Let's dispel all existing myths.

Marginal is a person who, for whatever reason, has dropped out of his habitual environment, but has not joined the new stratum of society. These individuals are in limbo, mainly because of cultural inconsistencies and for many other reasons.

The history of the marginals

In our time, "marginal" - the word is rather fashionable, but rather vague. Who is the marginal in reality, and how did this phenomenon come about? It is believed that the first marginals were slaves, who subsequently gained freedom. Slaves were not adapted to live as free people and did not even want such changes. Another example, the modern marginalized - are middle-aged people who have spent many years in prison and left to freedom. In completely unfamiliar conditions they simply do not know how to exist and as a result they return to places not so remote.

The appearance of marginals can be fully explained. Sooner or later, relations between the state and society become obsolete, and there is a need for certain changes. For example, feudal relations are replaced by capitalist relations. With new forms of relationship, there is nothing left for society but to adapt to innovations. However, society is very heterogeneous, there are certain classes in it (the bourgeoisie, workers, peasants, etc.). Active members of society more successfully realize their new relationships, but passive, poorly educated layers are simply not ready for change, are afraid of them, do not know how to adapt to them quickly. Thus, it turns out that such a person will fall out of the system of public-state relations. A person who has lost his habitual habitat and has not found his calling in a new life is who such a marginal person is.

Marginality as a phenomenon

People who do not perform any functions in society gradually begin to unite. Marginals call individuals of completely different classes. Basically - these are the remnants of different layers of society, who have left the historical scene and have not found employment in a new life. Often marginalized people are rather uneducated people who are unable to perform any system functions due to their ignorance.

The marginal society, as a rule, is a big problem for any state, as they do not perform any useful actions in the new format of the relationship. In addition, such individuals are dangerous because they are rallying and starting to take various protests against the current system. Marginals often create their ideologies: fascism, communism, anarchism, etc.

Who is the marginal in reality? An ordinary rebel or a victim of circumstances? In fact, it is difficult to say unequivocally, because the path of every person who has become marginalized has its own peculiarities. Apparently, at first the person simply finds himself in unfavorable conditions for the conduct of a normal life, and only later this state of affairs results in a definite conflict with society and with himself.
