How and what to do if the loin hurts?

Among all the painful sensations, the most unpleasant is discomfort in the back and lumbar region, which can be caused by various causes. Almost every second person in his life thinks about what to do if the back is hurting. Sometimes enough to cause discomfort in this area to sit in an uncomfortable position for fifteen minutes, but in the presence of chronic diseases, the back can hurt regardless of the posture. It should be noted that unpleasant sensations as a result of uncomfortable posture do not require a call to a specialist, while unexpected and dramatic pain will indicate the need for urgent examination.

Before determining the nature of the pain, it is necessary to first study a certain classification, which causes the pain in the back: the lower back, in the region of the scapula or in the cervical region. Below is a basic classification of diseases for which certain symptoms are characteristic.

  • Musculoskeletal changes that may be degeneration and dystrophy, in particular caused by diseases such as osteochondrosis and spondyloarthrosis.
  • Scoliosis, which is a deformation of the spine, on the background of which the most often arises the question of what to do if the loin hurts, as well as the area of the scapula and the cervical region.
  • Inflammatory processes that are non-infectious and occur due to age-related changes are exemplified by arthritis or Reiter's syndrome.
  • Fractures and injuries to the vertebrae due to mechanical damage, which often raises the question of what to do if the lower back pain.
  • Secondary causes, which are stroke states, problems with the gastrointestinal tract, appendicitis and gallbladder obstruction, resulting in some organ displacement.
  • Problems of the so-called reflected nature, when lumbar discomfort can be caused by renal colic or venereal diseases.

Discomfortable sensations in the lower back are divided into acute and chronic, with the first option often makes you wonder what to do if your lower back aches. First of all, it should be noted that in the case of such an ailment one must not forget about the danger of self-treatment and attempts at self-diagnosis. Only a qualified specialist can prescribe quality and correct treatment after carrying out the necessary examination and taking the patient's tests. And it is not at all necessary that medication will be prescribed for medicine: massage and physiotherapy exercises can also have a completely positive effect on the healing process and pain relief, especially when it comes to the initial stages of scoliosis and osteochondrosis. In the case of more advanced disease stages, surgery may be required.
