Where is the stomach? The location of the stomach in humans

About where the stomach is at the person, it is known to the majority of us, since this is one of the main organs.

General information

The stomach is called the digestive organ, which performs mechanical and enzymatic processing of food that has fallen into its cavity. It is an enlarged part in the digestive canal. The walls of the body in its composition have a large number of glands, the task of which is the secretion of gastric juice.

The location of the stomach in a person is very simple: it is located in the upper part of the abdominal cavity under the dome of the diaphragm and slightly shifted to the left side. The size of this body is quite problematic - it depends on age, stretch, and also on the sex of a person. If we talk about the average digit, then it's about half a liter.

What exactly happens in the stomach?

Where a person's stomach is, it's already a little clear, but now we need to figure out what exactly is happening in its inner part. So, immediately after getting a certain amount of food, quite interesting processes start to be launched.

To begin with, a large number of different acids begin to affect the food ingested in the stomach, since their task is the decomposition of all compounds, even the most complex ones.

Any chemical compound from the absorbed food reacts with acids that are in the stomach. But in every single case there can be a variety of reactions, as a result of which final products are obtained. They are what the human body needs.

Then the reaction products that have already formed inside the stomach, act on its receptors, transferring to the brain information that the food lump contains some substances. In order to determine the substances that are in the food, this body does not split the whole portion - enough of a few percent of it.

Purpose of the body

If you do not go into a lot of nuances, then you can say that the stomach is designed to very quickly determine the substances in the food, and then immediately report it to the brain. Then the latter immediately makes a decision as to which enzymes should be developed in order to digest food. Simply put, the stomach can be called the main laboratory, which conducts very important studies in the shortest time, but at the same time it performs everything efficiently and efficiently.

Main functions

Where is the stomach? Before answering this question, you must first understand what functions in the body are assigned to it:

1. Grinding and partial digestion of food, which falls into its cavity.

2. Production of gastric juice.

3. Wetting and stirring the food lump.

4. Transport of food products further along the digestive tract.

5. Partial absorption of decay products into the blood occurs here, which resulted from the reaction of stomach acid with substances contained in food.

6. In the stomach under the influence of hydrochloric acid, all microbes are destroyed, thus the disinfection of the products takes place.

Stomach of a person. Anatomy

This organ consists of a cardiac department, a subcardia, a bottom, an antral section, a body.

The cardinal department is one of the parts of the stomach, it directly adjoins the cardia.

If we assume a small curvature, then this distance is approximately 2-3 centimeters.

The subcardia is located slightly below the cardial section (by a small curvature of 5 centimeters).

The bottom is represented by part of the stomach, which is slightly higher than the esophageal-gastric transition.

The antral section has a proximal restriction with a line from the corner of the stomach, is placed in the very middle, exactly where the greater curvature passes.

The body of the stomach is the part of it that is located from the subcardia to the antrum.

Also, the body under consideration includes two curvatures, two surfaces and two holes.

A small curvature is placed on the right side of the stomach. Directly to it are attached two sheets of gastro-hepatic ligament.

The large curvature has a size that is 3-5 times small. Its highest point coincides with the cartilage of the left sixth rib.

The surfaces are lower-back, as well as antero-top.

The stomach has two holes. The first is called cardiac, through which the stomach cavity communicates with the esophagus, and the second - pyloric, it connects the stomach with the duodenum.

Major diseases

To date, the most common ailments are gastritis, ulcers and cancer. The latter is already a consequence of diseases that a person's stomach can acquire. The photos of the affected organs illustrate pathological changes. The main cause of the development of ailments is a poor ecological situation, as well as food, in which there is almost nothing natural left.

The aggravation of the state of human health is primarily his fault, because he does not go to the hospital when he does not have anything to hurt. But when there are painful feelings, it can be very late.

The same situation with one of the main organs: while he does not bother, many people do not even know where the stomach is. It is best to take preventive checks, which can not only determine the origin of serious diseases in time, but also save a person's life.

It is necessary to consider the disease in more detail:

- Gastritis is a disease that is characterized by inflammation of the mucous membrane of the stomach wall. Gastritis can be of two types: with increased or with reduced acidity of gastric juice produced by glands.

- An ulcer occurs as a result of the aggressive action of gastric juice on the gastric mucosa. As a result, depressions (ulcers) appear in its structure, the sizes of which reach one centimeter.

If you carry out examinations and treatment on time, then with the help of drugs and diets you can overcome these ailments. It is very useful to know where the stomach is in a person and how to deal with its underlying ailments in order to avoid serious consequences.
