Where are the Bardeff fonts?

For those who want to relax in a cozy and quiet place and improve their health, it is worth discovering such a resort place in Slovakia as the Bardejov fonts. However, it gained fame for a long time, the first mention of the fonts dates back to 1247. Even then, people who lived in the district, used the healing waters of springs, which were beached from the ground with keys. Currently, this is one of the famous resorts in Slovakia, famous for its fonts, baths, mud and unique mineral waters.

Historical reference

Bardejov is one of the most beautiful resort towns in Slovakia. Seven centuries ago it became known for its mineral waters, which have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Healing water from mineral springs was transported even to Berlin, Budapest, and Vienna. Since 1505 the construction of the first fonts for patients began. In 1777, a house with 12 rooms was built for rest. Polish and Hungarian noblemen came to be treated "on the water". The news of miraculous waters was spreading in Europe, and soon the reigning people began to come to Bardejov's fonts, even for the family of the Habsburg dynasty, the fonts were a favorite resting place.

In 1795, Professor Pavol Kitaibel made analyzes of water from two well-known sources - the Spa and the Main. The professor's report informed the medical society that water should be used in the treatment of headaches, female diseases, gout, stomach diseases. From this moment, the export of water from mineral springs to European countries began. The heyday of the resort falls on the first half of the XIX century. By this time, spa procedures used water from 13 sources.

Location of the resort

There are not many resorts in which the climatic conditions are ideally combined, a convenient location with a beautiful environment and mineral springs with healing water. Such a place, according to tourists, is in the north-east of Slovakia. Bardejewski fonts are a balneotherapeutic foothill resort. It is located among an amazingly virgin nature, in the Lower Beskids, in the valley of the Bardejov brook.

This fertile site in the coniferous-deciduous forest park area of 1000 hectares is located above sea level at an altitude of 325 meters. It is ideal not only for treatment, but also for outdoor activities in nature. Three kilometers from the resort there is the city of Bardejov, known even in the Middle Ages, rich in architectural monuments.

The territory of the resort zone, due to its location in the foothills, is protected from cold winds. In winter, the resort is not cold, the air temperature does not fall below -4 ° in January, in the summer ranges from +16 to +18.

Due to the uniqueness and curative properties of natural mineral springs, as well as the natural environment that contributes to the high level of treatment, the resort "Bardejovskie Kupeli" in Slovakia is popular not only among compatriots, but also among foreign tourists. Usually the list of prescribed procedures in the sanatorium "Bardejevskie fonts" depends on the patient's illness.
