Abrau-Dyurso (Krasnodar region) was previously an urban-type settlement. At present it is a rural district. The latter includes three villages - the Big Farms, Abrau and Durso.

The famous lake

The sights of Abrau-Dyurso include creations not only of man, but of nature. The largest freshwater lake in the Krasnodar Territory - Lake Abrau - has an area of 0.6 square meters. Km. Its width is 630 m, and its length is 3.1 km. In some places the depth of the lake reaches ten meters. It flows into the river with the same name. At the bottom of Abrau they beat the keys, and although there is no runoff near the lake, the water disappears somewhere.

Another mystery of the reservoir is a light strip arising periodically on its surface. Most clearly, it stands out at night. In the cold season, this strip freezes in the last place. This feature is explained in different ways: some hold the view that such an effect is observed due to the special interaction of wind and water, others believe that it's all about beating the keys at the bottom.

Lake Abrau-Dyurso has amazing beauty. The water in it has a pleasant emerald color. In the warm season, it warms up to 28 degrees Celsius. There are freshwater fish in the lake, among them are carp, bream, ram, white cupids, trout, silver and gold crucian carp, carp, red ruddy and Abrau tulips.

Since 1979 the reservoir has the status of a natural monument. For this reason, motor boats on the lake are prohibited from moving. You can fish only for fishing.

In the vicinity of the described reservoir there is the same town of Abrau. Together with another small settlement - Durso - they form a single recreational area called Abrau-Durso. The shores of the lake are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable beach holiday. Tourists especially appreciate the possibility of seclusion in the nearby forest area, to rest from the city bustle or go on a "quiet hunt" for mushrooms and berries.

Church of St. Xenia of St. Petersburg

Some of Abrau-Dyurso's attractions attract pilgrims from all over the country. Among such places is the temple, majestically towering above the lake surface. It was laid in 1996. Four years later the construction of the temple complex became more active. It was blessed by the Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidore. In order to produce red wine near Vienna, he purchased the vines of Portugiser. In the same period, the best specimens of Sauvignon, Aligote, Cabernet and Pinot Blanc were brought from Livadia and the Crimea. The first vineyards were smashed in the estates of Pilenko and Alexander II. Later they both served as models for the development of viticulture in those places.

At the Yalta exhibition, held in 1884, the wines of the plant in Abrau-Dyurso were met better than the Crimean ones, which were considered unconditional leaders of the domestic winemaking.

Sweet Limancik

This lake is located on the Black Sea coast. Several kilometers separate it from Novorossiysk and Abrau-Durso. Excursions near this reservoir are held regularly. Numerous tourists are attracted by the secrets of the lake, which no one is yet able to disclose.

Sweet Limanchik is separated from the Black Sea by a thin stone strip. It is assumed that the reservoir arose as a result of a severe earthquake, as a result of which the slabs that fell from the mountain formed a perepouple. The height of the latter is currently thirty-five meters.

And now a little about the aforementioned secrets: the water in the lake is fresh and surprisingly clean, although the sea is very near. Scientists are still trying to solve this riddle of nature.

Sweet Limancik is led by an asphalt road. Difficulties with the passage to the reservoir lie in the fact that it is located near the recreation center of the RSU. In the warm season tourists organize tent settlements on the picturesque shores of the lake. In the same period, the recreation center opens. Travelers are not allowed to wash things and wash dishes in the clear waters of Sweet Limancik. And although this rule is strictly observed, the reservoir, unfortunately, continues to degrade.

On the banks of the Lesser Liman, there are sword-grass, grabinnik, scumpia and Derzhiderevo - representatives of a unique flora.

Beautiful river

By listing the sights of Abrau-Durso, one can not help but mention this water artery. Its source is in the area of the southwestern slope of Mount Gudzak. Durso joins the Black Sea near the "Sputnik". In its valley there is a settlement of the same name. Since 1871, it is part of Abrau-Durso.

In the 1970s, archaeologists discovered a medieval burial ground in the Durso valley. This monument of antiquity was preserved only partially, it remained after the alien settlers. An interesting fact is that this cemetery has no analogues in the entire Caucasus, however similar burials were discovered in the Crimea. According to the version of scientists, the last left the Crimean Goths.

The Dyurso River is a small stretch - only seventeen kilometers. Nevertheless, the travelers rush to her to enjoy the beautiful views of the valley planted with vineyards.

Excursion tour continues on the shore of Abrau lake. Tourists will learn a lot of interesting things about this pond. Some time is spent on an independent walk (about half an hour). Bathing in the lake is not provided.

Tourists under the age of eighteen years are not allowed to go on excursions. Travelers with children leave their children under the supervision of educators. A special room is organized for the kids. The service is chargeable.
