What is the norm of weight?

The norm of weight is a relative concept. And it is directly related to the type of physique: asthenic - lean (narrow chest, long arms and legs), normostenic - middle complexion (musculature is sufficiently developed), hypersthenic - people are broad-boned, have a predisposition to fullness.

His type of physique is easy to define: grasp the big and middle finger of one hand with the wrist of the other and tighten it tightly. Asthenic (fragile) - fingertips overlap each other, normostenic (athletic) - only touch each other, hypersthenic (strong) - do not touch.

Applying the Broca index, the approximate calculation of the weight norm will be as follows: growth (in cm) minus 100-110.

More precisely, the weight norm is calculated: the body weight (in kg) divided by the height (in m) and squared - this will be the body mass index, which characterizes the weight and its deviations. The norm is BMI from 20 to 25, less than 19 - exhaustion, more than 26 - weight is somewhat excessive, 31-40 - the average degree of obesity, more than 41 - pathological obesity, accompanied by complications. However, blindly rely on the index can not: athletes, for example, have a large muscle mass in the body's tissues, and may have a BMI above 26.

The ratio of the waist (in cm) to the volume of the hips (in cm) is an important characteristic, but rather reflecting the appearance and slenderness of the figure, which is more actual for women. Good indicators are: for women - less than 0.8, for men - less than 0.9 (after 40 years, a little more - respectively, 0.85 and 0.95).

The amount of visceral fat is the waist circumference, measured in centimeters. The norm is considered not more than 88 - for women, and not more than 102 - for men.

The norm of weight in children, of course, can not be calculated on the basis of the above parameters: the child grows, and these basic anthropometric indicators of development (height and weight) are constantly changing. Rigid standards in children can not be - all individually, and depends primarily on the sex of the child and heredity. Since the birth of a new life, all indicators are only approximate: the norms of the weight of the fetus in a pregnant woman depends on the quality of her nutrition, lifestyle. It affects the weight and height of the baby and whether it is on breastfeeding after birth and for how long: as is known, in this case it develops more harmoniously than the "artificial" one. Certain guidelines, of course, exist, and according to them doctors determine the age development of children, and they are presented in centile tables. Currently, these are tables developed by WHO in 2006.

I would like to return to the adult people and especially note that if a person, having calculated by formulas, that although his BMI is within the limits of the rule, but there are five extra pounds, one should not hurry with the decision to go on a diet. Most likely it is only necessary to revise your diet a little and begin to lead a more lively lifestyle, and the weight norm will match the ideal!

Just do not force yourself, the occupation should bring pleasure: for example, the ideal solution is dancing, and the pool simply works wonders. After analyzing, everyone can find an active rest at will.

And the main thing is that you are healthy and happy with life!
