What if the fan impeller has broken down?

On the road with the motorist, anything can happen, especially if its route is several hundred kilometers. It is possible that in the middle of the road the car will not be able to operate the impeller of the fan. This detail though also simple in a design, but its breakage threatens with boiling of the car. What measures to take and how to proceed, if the nearest SRT is at least 50 kilometers long? What can cause a breakdown?

In fact, the impeller itself (it will be VAZ or imported Volkswagen, it does not matter) by its design can not come to a malfunction, except that it will be damaged beforehand by a sharp object. While the car is moving along the road, a cold air flow is blowing to the radiator surface, so you can move with a faulty fan. However, if the temperature of the engine gradually increases, you can add a little bit of speed. For safety reasons, do not play with the speedometer, so the word "little" plays a special role here.

What if the above method does not help?

When the motor temperature increases gradually with increasing speed (which is quite natural), there is only one way out of the situation - complete stop and cooling of the motor on the roadside.

How can I eliminate the breakdown?

When the nearest STO is about an hour away, of course, in such conditions hardly anyone guarantees complete protection against the boiling of the motor. The engine can boil and every 5 km, so it's best to call the tow truck and get to it to the nearest center. If this is not possible, you can try to eliminate the breakdown yourself. To do this, you can take the old camera from any car (it will fit even from the truck) and cut out of it a ring 2 cm wide. Having installed such a product in place of the belt, you can safely get home: the fan impeller will work harmoniously. However, this does not mean that such a tool by function completely replaces the standard part. At the first opportunity, replace it with a normal spare part. Domestic manufacturers of fans, impellers and cooling systems have a wide range of products, so you can buy these goods in any car dealer.

As you can see, the non-working impeller of the fan is not a sentence for the car. There are a lot of exits from the situation, the main thing here is not to let the engine boil, otherwise you'll have to fork out for repair.
