UAZ-3909 - off-road cargo transportation

This car is just impossible to not know! And it's not even in his popularity, but simply in our memory he was always. The first samples under the UAZ-450 index appeared as early as in 1957, then under the UAZ-452 index the production of an altered version began (it happened in 1965), and finally, in 1990, UAZ-3909 appeared, named Farmer. With all the upgrades, the design was modified, somehow reflected in the technical characteristics, but despite this, the car was always perceived as a "loaf" (slang name). Naturally, thanks to its appearance.

Similar to its ancestors and the farmer, although has UAZ-3909 technical characteristics, which differ, albeit insignificantly, from the 450th UAZ. The most important thing is that the car retained its wagon layout, frame and four-wheel drive. Therefore, excellent features of UAZ-3909 on overcoming impassability remained unchanged.

In Soviet times, such a car was not available to the general public, and then, with a sufficiently wide choice of imported cars, it was unnecessary. However, there remained a certain contingent of consumers for whom such a car is still of interest. First and foremost, these are rural residents and, in particular, for them, the traditional "loaf" was modernized, later named the Farmer.

UAZ-3909 Farmer with all the traditional advantages for a "loaf" (frame and wagon configuration) has a non-switchable four-wheel drive, 4-speed manual transmission, 2-stage distribution. As a power unit can be used either ZMZ-402 (gasoline engine with a power of 92 hp), or Ulyanovsk engine UMZ-413 with a power of 99 hp. Brakes at the car drum, suspension spring. There are no auxiliary elements (even GUR is absent).

This is explained by the fact that the developers set themselves the task of creating a simple, reliable and unpretentious car for heavy road conditions with the possibility of repair in any situation. So it turned out, retaining all the signs of the car from the fifties of the last century. But, despite the lack of comfort, it is able to move in almost any conditions, carrying passengers and cargo.

To this end, in the van of the familiar "loaf" allocated additional seats for five passengers and set the table. In the cargo compartment, separated from the cabin by a partition, there is room for four hundred and fifty kilograms of cargo. Of course, for the UAZ-3909, tuning of both the saloon and the whole car is performed for certain needs, but in any case, a minibus is obtained that can transport seven people (including the driver), as mentioned in the most difficult road conditions.

For landing and disembarking passengers serve three conventional doors on the side. One double rear door serves for loading luggage. For the convenience of passengers, a high-performance heater is installed, which ensures optimum temperature in the cabin (even in very cold weather).

UAZ-3909 is an ideal option for hunters and fishermen. It can also serve as a kind of "staff car" in rural conditions for farmers and managers of agricultural enterprises.
