Vomiting and diarrhea during poisoning: consequences, causes and treatment

Vomiting and diarrhea are symptoms of many diseases, but we will focus only on the most common, without touching oncology, violations of the vestibular apparatus, dysentery or cholera. It's about poisoning.

These two symptoms usually go in pairs, one without the other almost never arises. Vomiting, diarrhea is characterized by the fact that they can not be controlled in any way during flow. But the correct treatment can "pacify" them. The fact is that prolonged vomiting and diarrhea, even separately, are very dangerous for health, since they lead to disturbances in the water-salt balance and the body begins to experience electrolyte shock, which disrupts the activity of all systems.

The main cause of these symptoms is as follows. Microbes enter the gastrointestinal tract, which not only begin to multiply rapidly, but also carry out their "life activity". Decay products and their excrement begin to poison the body, resulting in diarrhea and vomiting.

It is recommended to urgently call a doctor, and not to self-medicate, and monitor the condition to avoid dehydration, because this process can occur very quickly. In addition, a number of principles must be observed.

The first rule. Obligatory refusal to eat at least eight hours. You can not do snacks, drink juice and so on. But in this period of time it is recommended to drink. The best options for this - mineral water without gas, the drug "Regidron", a decoction of dried fruits and unsweetened kissel. The intake of beverages should be frequent (every 10 minutes), but in small portions (a few teaspoons). If even vomiting and diarrhea have stopped, the "hungry diet" can not be stopped in any case before the expiration of 8 hours.

The second rule. The body should be thoroughly cleaned with an adsorbent. It can be a preparation of "Smecta" or "Enterosgel". They help to deduce precisely toxic substances and products of disintegration of microorganisms.

The third rule. In the event that vomiting and diarrhea continue for more than a day, then you need to start taking antimicrobials (for example, Enterofuril, Ersefuril, and so on). In the event that another day has passed, and there are no improvements, then it is recommended to switch to antibiotics. The most effective and traditional remedy is levomycetin. Dosage is recommended to be selected individually and in accordance with the instructions.

The fourth rule. If vomiting does not stop, or there are constant urges on it, then it is better to take an anti-emetic, for example, "Motilium."

Sooner or later, vomiting and diarrhea will stop. But the most important thing is to avoid a repeated disorder of the body. To do this, it is recommended to follow a certain diet when leaving the "hungry diet".

First day. Begin to eat in small portions, and only the following products: oat porridge on the water, homemade croutons and rice decoction. As a drink, preference is given to the unsweetened compote of dried fruits, decoction of rose hips and tea without sugar.

Second day. You can start eating porridge, cooked in a ratio of 1: 1 (water-milk). The main thing is not to take sweet foods, because sugar causes fermentation in the body and promotes the development and reproduction of microorganisms.

The third day. You can eat meat. In this capacity, use broth with boiled breast, or mashed potatoes without butter with chopped chicken.

All these days it is recommended to take enzymes and useful bacteria in medicines, and from the fourth day start to drink sour-milk products, because they contain microorganisms necessary for the restoration of the gastrointestinal tract.
