  2. Soda is diluted in liter of water and leave the prepared foods for the whole night in this solution.
  3. The next day, wash the pieces, put them in a saucepan, cover them with ½ portion of sugar and heat for 15 minutes on low heat.
  4. After this, the mixture is set aside for 8 hours, tightly wrapping the pan.
  5. Repeat the heating process 3 times.
  6. At the last stage, add lemon juice along with sugar.

Ready marmalade of watermelon crusts will only be folded into jars and sent to storage, closing tightly with lids.

Wealth of taste

Those who like to experiment, you can advise to try another option. It's not quite ordinary, but quite interesting. It will take a little more components:

Except a kilo of watermelon crusts - ½ lemon, 3 pounds of sugar, a liter of water and another teaspoon of cinnamon, soda and cardamom, and half a teaspoon of a special mixture for desserts.

Cooking method:

  1. First, the usual way to release raw materials from the peel.
  2. The rest of the grind and pour the solution of soda for 4 hours.
  3. After that, rinse the products, pour water, pour 600 grams of sugar and heat for 20 minutes.
  4. Cool the mixture and let it stand for 5 hours.

It has long been customary in Russia to drink tea with different sweets. This can be anything: baking, jam or, for example, marmalade from watermelon crusts. The recipe for this dessert can be simplified to a minimum and take for work only:

600 grams of sugar, ½ liter of water and 1 kilogram of crusts of ordinary watermelon.

Then everything should be done as follows:

  1. Crust, left after eating watermelon, free from hard peel. For the work you will need only a white part of it, which you need to cut into strips or cubes. Products folded into a pan or basin.
  2. From the rest of the products according to the recipe, weld the syrup and pour it with the prepared raw materials.
  3. Put the capacity on the fire, bring it slowly to a boil and heat for 6-7 minutes.

Marmalade becomes almost transparent, like pieces of amber. Now you can eat it, but remember that it will not be stored for a long time.

Non-standard variant

There are many ways to prepare marmalade from watermelon crusts. It is not necessary to preserve the appearance and original form of the raw material. And the taste can be changed not only through spices. There is a very interesting option for which you will need:

1 kilogram of sugar, watermelon crusts and grapefruit, half a kilogram of oranges, a teaspoon of cinnamon and half a glass of lemon juice.

Sequencing:

  1. Citrus fruits are free from pits and peel.
  2. Light part of the crusts of watermelon cut into small pieces.
  3. Products are put together, poured into a blender bowl and mashed.
  4. Put the mass in a saucepan, add the rest of the ingredients, and then bring it to a boil.
  5. The mixture should be cooled and cut into pieces using a knife. If desired, they can be lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar.
