Thermomax Thermal Insulation Systems

For thermal insulation of building envelopes, THERMOMAX offers outdoor insulation systems with a thin plaster layer "THERMOMAX" and "THERMOMAX-E". We will consider the installation of the "THERMOMAX-E" system with a heater made of expanded polystyrene plates.

During work, the temperature of the air and the substrate should not be below +5 degrees. Installation should be carried out after the installation of the roof and installation of window and door units.

Dust, dirt or particles that interfere with the adhesion of the adhesive layer should be removed from the substrate, if necessary, rinsed with water under pressure.

It is necessary to mark the location of the socle profile with a 2 meter level. The base profile in accordance with the thickness of the insulation to fix the entire length of the installation with dowels in increments of not more than 30 cm.

With the help of drill-perforator, it is necessary to drill holes for the plastic sleeve. Then insert the sleeve into the technological opening of the socle profile and fix it to the base with a screw. Connect the socle profiles to each other with a special connector.

Cut out elements of a mineral wool board for a fire cutter with a width of at least 150mm. To cut the cuts, use a saw with a small tooth or a special knife. Fire cuts at the corners of the openings should be made in the form of a whole corner.

To glue the elements of the fire cutter, prepare the mortar mixture by mixing the dry plaster-glue mixture THERMOMAX-100 with clean cold water in accordance with the instructions on the package.

With an uneven surface of the base, the THERMOMAX-100 mortar must be applied to the thermal insulation board around the perimeter with a 5 cm wide strip and a thickness of about 2 cm, and also in the middle of the plate with flat cakes. At the same time, at least 40% of the area of the slab should be covered with glue. If the surface of the substrate is sufficiently flat, the THERMOMAX-100 plaster-glue mixture can be applied over the entire surface of the insulation board using a notched trowel with a tooth size of at least 10 mm.

Installation of the THERMOMAX-E system with expanded polystyrene insulation begins with the installation of mineral wool elements on the socle profile and gluing them to the base.

For the installation of the external thermal insulation of walls, polystyrene boards for wet facades, for example KNAUF Therm FACADE or PSB-S-25F with a density of not less than 16 kg / m3, are used.

Installation and gluing of polystyrene plates in the design position are carried out close to each other with pressing against the surface of the bearing part of the wall and alignment with respect to each other. The adhesion of the adhesive between the joints of the plates is unacceptable. In the event that gaps of more than 2 mm are formed between them, they must be filled with the material of the insulation used.
When installing firebreaks in the corners of window and door openings, it is not allowed to join slabs on the lines of corners of window and door openings. Fire cuts at the corners of the openings should be made in the form of a whole corner.

For cutting polystyrene plates use a saw with a small tooth. Installation and gluing of expanded polystyrene plates should be carried out with a bandage of joints of at least 20 cm.

The inter-floor slit is arranged in the upper level of the slope of the openings.

Complete the insulation of the window slope.

Not earlier than 48 hours after gluing the heater to install the plate bolts for fixing the thermal insulation boards. A hole is drilled in the wall of the building with the chosen dowel and 10 mm longer than the length of the dowel. The plastic plug is clogged into the hole, and the cap should be flush with the surface of the heat-insulating plate. After that, the spacer is clogged or screwed into the dowel (depending on the type of dowel) . The number of dowels is determined in accordance with the technical and regulatory documentation of this system.

THERMOMAX-100 is applied to the outer corners of the window and door openings. Install the angled plastic profile with the glass net.

On the vertical corners of the building, to strengthen the system, it is necessary to install a corner plastic profile with a glass net, which is also fixed with a mortar mixture THERMOMAX-100. Using a spatula, press the glass grill into the mortar mixture.

On the plane of the wall in the area of the corners of door and window openings diagonally paste a reinforcing mesh with a size of 30cm x 50cm using a THERMOMAX-100 mortar.

In the places of contiguity to the window and door blocks, establish a profile for processing the slope of the opening.

On the surface of the heat-insulating slabs of the slope of the opening, apply the THERMOMAX-100 mortar mixture, level with a spatula and fix the profile with the mortar mixture.

Apply a THERMOMAX-100 mortar mixture to the surface of the fixed insulation boards and align with a notched trowel.

After the application and leveling of the mortar mixture, push the glass grill into it with overlap of adjacent sheets at least 10 cm.

Not earlier than 8 days after the application of THERMOMAX-100 mortar, the surface of the protective layer should be primed with the quartz primer THERMOMAX-301.

12 hours after priming, apply a mortar mixture of decorative plaster THERMOMAX-D1 to the surface of the protective layer. Align to the thickness of the grain and immediately give the structure a plastic or steel float, wiping the surface with straight or circular motions. Structured surfaces are no longer rubbing.

Protect fresh plaster from rapid drying.

After solidification of the decorative layer, it is recommended to paint it with facade paints.
