Yerevan is the capital of Armenia. Most historians believe that the year of foundation of Yerevan is the year of the founding of the settlement of Erebuni, that is, 782 BC. Erebuni was located on the southern territory of the modern capital of Armenia. Yerevan is located in the Republic of Armenia, in its central part. In the upper part it is surrounded by picturesque mountains, and to the south it is located on the bank of the most beautiful river Hrazdan, which flows along the canyon and divides it into two parts. In 1924, the Soviet authorities decided to reconstruct Yerevan. It was conducted according to the project of Tamanyan, who created a special national style using elements of the church architecture. During the reconstruction, the Armenian capital changed its appearance. Almost all previously constructed buildings were dismantled. New streets were created, electricity, sewerage and running water were provided, and the surrounding hills were planted with trees. Now the central square of the Republic is the architectural center of Yerevan. It houses the Government House, the Armenia Marriott Hotel, the Historical Museum, the Ministry of the Republic and the Post Office.

Among other major architectural projects , the opera and ballet theater, the brandy factory, numerous monuments and monuments, the most significant of them are the monument to the victims of the genocide and Victory Park.
