However, this place quickly lost its status as a military camp, but it became an important part of the Sea Port. The name, however, has not changed.

Already after the turbulent events of 1917 and the establishment of Soviet power, the Kanonersky Island acquired brand new iron foundries and locksmith's workshops, as well as a modern dock, which enabled it to repair large-capacity vessels.

Since the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the plant, naturally, was transferred to a martial law: here not only ships were repaired, but also ammunition, for example, high-explosive shells and air bombs. Many workers went to the front, as evidenced by the monument established on the territory of the enterprise. Kanonersky island in those years became the most important center, where new technologies connected with various ship repair operations passed.

Appearance of the first permanent residents

It was also in the war years that the first permanent residents of the area appeared. It was (which is quite understandable) the workers of the shipyard, since in the absence of another message, except for the barge, they had to spend a lot of time to get to Kanonersky Island.
