Technical requirements for photos on documents

Technical requirements for photos on documents are established by GOST R 52112-2003. These standards are compulsory for all economic entities, regardless of their belonging to one or another organizational and legal form, as well as individual entrepreneurs who provide services for the production of images.

Technical requirements for photographs on documents include both general standards established by GOST, as well as obligations to ensure the health and life of customers, to preserve their property and protect the environment. The provisions of the current standard are the basis that applies when writing instructions for specific types of surveys. This GOST is introduced to the application from January 1, 2000 two thousand and four. Previously, no analogues of this document were published.

The technical requirements for photographs on documents contain a number of certain regulatory rules:

- the production of personal photos is made in color or black and white when using laminated forms or without a protective film;

- the photographs should be of a certain size, which depends on the purpose of the document, be made on paper intended for pictures, and not exceed the requirements set by the relevant departments;

- at the request of the customer, the format of the photo intended for use in certificates, badges, etc. Can differ from normative;

- personal images should have a face image in full-face, and even the slightest turn of the head is not allowed;

- facial expressions in photographs should not distort the features of a person;

- photographing is done without a headdress in monophonic clothes;

- a personal photo on the documents allows for the presence on the glasses, if the person suffers from visual impairment, unless the tinted glasses cover the eyes;

- the image on the personal photo must have a clear, medium contrast and have a soft chiaroscuro (the total and detailed blur of the picture, as well as the presence of fuzzy glare in the eyes is strictly prohibited);

- the background color should differ from the depicted face in a lighter tone, while being smooth, not having spots, streaks, etc .;

- in the production of technical retouching of the negative, distortion of the characteristic features of the face is prohibited;

- the presence of traces of chemical or other positive retouching is not allowed;

- the image on the photographs for documents should be of sufficient degree of stability, which must comply with the standards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, if the customer has met all the requirements for its storage.

The technical requirements for photos on documents also contain the main parameters of the picture. These include:

- the general sizes;

- the size of the person depicted, which is set at a certain percentage of the total area of the photograph;

- the sizes of fields;

- the tone of the picture (black-and-white or color);

- type of photo paper (glossy or matte);

- background color.

Requirements for photos on the passport of a Russian citizen were changed after the publication of the order of the FMS of Russia, which was dated on September 2, two thousand and eleven. According to the new requirements:

- The size of the photograph on the passport should be forty-five millimeters in length, thirty-five in width;

- the image of the head should occupy not less than eighty percent of the photo format, and should be thirty-two to thirty-six millimeters in length, and eighteen to twenty-five in width, and do not enter the frame at the same time;

- over the image of the head there should be a field, the size of which is five millimeters, with an allowable error of one parameter unit;

- the background should have uniformity and be white or light gray in color;

- The photographic paper used must be glossy.
