Still life with a pencil: from a caveman to our days

For the first time the idea to display the world around in the drawing came to a person in the head, neither much nor little, 60 thousand years ago. Primitive art was distributed practically on all continents, with the exception of Antarctica, and survived up to our time among tribes living in the most remote corners of the planet.

Who knows what causes were the source of inspiration for the primitive man and he took a piece of coal in an incompetent hand and began to paint on the wall of his cave? These were not drawings drawn in pencil, they were simple geometric shapes and contours of animals. Perhaps, the fighting coloring of the body was thus the first step to the creativity of our ancestors, and, perhaps, the man, seeing his shadow, decided to transfer the pattern to the rock. Who knows ... Familiar outlines in stone could spur a primitive sculptor to recreate the silhouette of an animal from him. You can build a lot of guesswork, but one thing remains certain: the importance of the role of drawing and painting primitive people in communicating with their own kind, as well as in the transfer of knowledge and skills to the next generation.

In the spiritual development of man, the tools of the primitive man's creativity and his desire for self-expression through the drawing played the same role as the sharpened stone in the work activity.

Scientists differed in their opinions as to which of the primitive arts appeared earlier. Still life with a pencil, a person will begin to draw much later, and while he is practicing naturalistic painting on the walls of his home, he depicts geometric figures and signs. Perhaps these two forms of art appeared simultaneously, because apart from these means of self-expression, a person tried to use all the materials. Thus, one of the most ancient images, dating from the early Paleolithic epoch, is the impression of a human hand made in clay. In the same place was found a lot of wavy lines and interlacing, perhaps an ancient man depicted what he saw in front of us, as we would paint the landscape in pencil.

Since then, a lot of water has flowed, but man's desire to express his feelings, feelings, moods through graphics, painting, drawing, sculpture is not weakening. Almost all children from the smallest age are taught to hold a pencil in their hand, and the child's first scribble is a still-life with a pencil, a portrait of a mother or father, the familiar face of an animal.

A child is born with a desire to create, and even if no one in detail tells him how to learn to draw correctly, he will still continue his search in this direction. Since drawing with a pencil is the basis of everything, then a child gifted with artistic talent, instinctively learns how to properly master this subject for drawing. And now the first more or less successful patterns of the drawing are emerging from under his hand. It can be a flower in a vase, an apple on a plate, a bird in a cage: in a word, a still-life with a pencil.

The first children's drawings are sweet to the heart of their parents, but if you plan to develop his abilities in a child, then in an art school they will begin with the basics. They will tell you what pencils are, they will be offered to work with each of them, explain the difference in application, teach them how to draw the simplest geometric figures, and when the child is able to draw a perfectly smooth circle without a compass, they will tell about the secrets and secrets of this professional drawing with a pencil.

And let the first work of the student be still immature, imperfect, but it will be a real portrait or still life with a pencil drawn according to all the rules of the fine arts, taking into account all the properties of the materials used (paper and pencil), observing all the laws of perspective.
