Stacking technology: paving stones with your own hands

The stone has long been used for paving roads, streets and sidewalks. The coating of this material is highly durable and expensive. Modern technology allows qualitatively simulate stone panels with minimal loss of operational properties. A simple technology of laying has been developed, paving stones with their own hands are no worse than those of masters.

For the production of this coating sand is used as a filler and a fine fraction of crushed stone. The binding component is cement of the brand not lower than 500. The formulation of the mixtures depends on the quality of the raw materials and is determined by the guidance documents - TU. The solution is placed in special forms, and its compaction is carried out in different ways. This can be both pressing and shaking tables. Subsequent processing of the finished product with steam makes it possible to adapt its resistance to environmental conditions.

Preparatory operations, tools and materials

What is the method of laying? Paving stone, created by its own hands, provides for a sandy base of a certain thickness. To ensure the flow of water during rain or snow melt, the surface must have a certain slope. Organization of work on laying tiles involves the presence of a simple inventory and tools, such as:

• Shovels and bayonets ;
• Buckets;
• Cord construction, wings wooden or metal;
• Tamper, rubber and metal hammer;
• Levels are hydraulic and rule.

To carry out the work you will need the actual paving slab, sand as a foundation and cement to join the coating.

Basic work

Begin with the layout of the territory and marking, mostly the tracks are made straight. Different ways of laying pavers are used, schemes can simulate brickwork or cladding with ceramic tiles. The choice of a certain coverage pattern is for the owner of the site, and depends on the general stylistic decisions used by the landscape designer.

Where does the laying start? Cobblestones, created by themselves on the site, will be laid along the lines of marking, where they excavate the trenches, into which the curbstone is installed. This element is fixed with a concrete solution. Between them is poured a sand cushion with a thickness of at least 0.2 m and carefully compacted. For high-quality operation, you can use both manual and electric vibration tools.

There is another method of styling. A paving stone, laid by its own hands, is put on substrates. A special technical fabric of the type Geotextile is placed on the prepared base. A layer of sand-cement mixture 5-10 cm thick is poured over it as a reliable link. Now you can begin to directly build the tracks with stone tiles. The paving is laid with a gap between the adjacent panels and is deposited with a rubber hammer. After the work is completed, the surface is blotted out with a mixture until the gaps fill completely.

Quality paving stones, the price of which is quite high (an average of 500 to 1000 rubles per square meter), with the involvement of specialists - the pleasure is expensive. To reduce costs is possible only if all work is done independently. As practice shows, it is possible for any person, it takes only time and patience.
