Signs of a micro stroke, its treatment and risk group

In medicine there is no official term for "microinsult". So doctors call a stroke in small sizes or a circulatory disorder in the brain with rapidly disappearing symptoms. The disease is usually expressed in the form of a spasm of blood vessels that feed the brain, as a consequence of the disruption of the function of its cells. Signs of micro-stroke are more common in people with hypertension, diabetes, because these diseases lead to a malfunction of blood circulation in small vessels.

Fortunately, the consequences of this disease are curable and reversible, just do not lose sight of the first signals warning of the possibility of a new defeat, but much more serious. If the signs of a micro-stroke are not detected in time and the treatment is not started, after about 6 hours the affected cells die, which can affect the brain functions.

The main cause of the disease is vasospasm, but it can be caused by some factors. These include a sharp change in atmospheric pressure, constant fatigue, periodic stress and similar domestic troubles. Physicians designate a risk group, which includes people with a conditional predisposition to micro stroke:

- if a person has crossed the 60-year age limit (in the modern world this bar tends to decrease, the signs of a micro-stroke are more frequent in young people at the age of 35);

- the person has excessive body weight;

- low-level lifestyle;

- improper diet (use of a large number of animal fats);

- Too much physical activity;

- Alcohol abuse, smoking;

- already existing diseases of the cardiovascular system;

- patients with diabetes mellitus;

- people with frequent and severe headaches;

- increased meteosensitivity.

Often a person does not immediately realize that he has a microstroke, the signs of which are very similar to the hypertensive crisis. Diagnosis of this disease is possible if there are 3, 4 following symptoms:

- Slightly expressed numbness in the limbs;

- dizziness;

- asymmetry in the face (manifested in the lowering of the century, including);

- general weakness and headache;

- Irritability from bright light and loud sounds;

- Increased blood pressure;

- Insignificant loss of coordination of movements.

The patient does not have all the signs of a micro stroke at once, because they depend on the specific area of the brain that was affected.

Everyone should know what help should be provided to the sick person before the arrival of medical assistance. First of all, of course, it should be called, and upon the arrival of doctors, warn them if this is not the first case of a micro-stroke. The patient should lie motionless with a raised head and a cold bandage on his forehead. The room where the affected person is located should be well ventilated. It is better to unbutton the top button at the shirt. At strongly raised arterial pressure it is necessary to give a medicine. When providing first aid, it is better to constantly reassure the patient so that he does not have a second microinsult on the background of new stress. And according to statistics in 70% of cases the first attack follows the second.

Treatment of a micro stroke should be started immediately. If the time has not elapsed since the appearance of the first signs , then, under the condition of proper therapy, the consequences for the patient will be minimal. The main treatment for a micro stroke is the appointment of vasodilators and reducing blood coagulability drugs. Together with this, the patient undergoes a course of procedures that purify toxins. Appoint and medication, normalizing metabolic processes. Increase the functionality of the brain will help nootropic drugs.

In the complex treatment of micro-stroke, rehabilitation procedures are prescribed in the form of massage, exercises with a speech therapist. Patients are recommended active physical education, advised to lead a lifestyle that provides more movement, and to observe the correct regime.
