Unfortunately, today's level of patriotic consciousness in our country is inferior to that which took place in the era of the USSR. In this regard, many think that at the present time Russians are not ready at the cost of their own lives to perform feats for the good of their Motherland and to go on self-sacrifice for the sake of others. And yet, it's good that such a viewpoint is wrong. There were, there are and will be heroes of our time. Especially many feats are being committed in the army today, and this only proves the heroism and significance of the soldiers who committed them. One such, undoubtedly, is Major Sergey Solchnikov, who lost his life in the prime of life to save his comrades.

In the spring of 2012, exercises were held, during which the private Maxim Zhuravlev, by inexperience and carelessness, tossed a military grenade, which eventually landed back in the shelter. And there were about ten soldiers in it, including the commander ... And Sergey Solnechnikov was the first to respond to the situation.

He did not spare his own life for the sake of others, although no one asked him to make such a sacrifice.

Years of Childhood

Sergei Solchnikov was born on August 19, 1980 in the German city of Potsdam in a military family. Even when he was four years old, he spent days on the airfield where his father was serving. The boy from childhood was pumping the sky, and he dreamed of only one thing: "Fly, fly and fly again." After a while the Solnechnikov family moves to live in the Soviet Union, and Sergei is sent to study in an ordinary secondary school in Volgograd. There he will sit at the school desk of 8 classes, and after the teenager will gnaw the granite of science already in the Cadet boarding school named after him. PO Sukhoi, which is located in the city of Akhtubinsk.

On the way to your dream ...

All this time, Sergey Solnechnikov remembers his childhood dream, and when he turns 17 he submits the documents to the Kachin Higher Aviation School. He is accepted into this university without entrance examinations, since he studied well at the cadet school. But a year later the school was disbanded, and the young man decided to become a cadet of the Kemerovo Higher Military Command School of Communications. The dream of planes had to be pushed to the back burner.

Sergey Aleksandrovich Solchnikov received the diploma about the completion of the command school in 2003, after which the young man will be sent to serve in the Far East, namely, the military unit No. 53790 of the city of Belogorsk (Amur Region).

The heroic act

In the army service, a young man showed maximum diligence, unquestioningly fulfilling all the provisions of the military regulations. The commanders could not help noticing this, and after a while Sergei Solnechnikov, whose biography is of great interest to his comrades, attains the rank of major. He is trusted to command a communications battalion. Once, together with his soldiers, he went to the training ground for routine shooting.

One of Sergey's colleagues says that at the training ground, servicemen were engaged in throwing grenades. And one of them either jumped off the hand of the fighter, or ricochet. The shell was in the immediate vicinity of the soldiers. The incident occurred in a matter of seconds. There was very little time to make a decision. As soon as the grenade reached the surface of the earth, Major Sergey Solchnikov immediately covered it with his body. There was an explosion. If he had not reacted to the situation, the entire company would have died with a population of more than one hundred.

Acted on the situation

And here is how another eyewitness described the incident. When the fighter threw a munition, he ricocheted from the parapet. It's hard to say why the shot did not end up in the end. But Sergei Aleksandrovich Solchnikov was able to quickly analyze the situation, which could soon turn into the death of people. He in the blink of an eye pushed Maxim Zhuravlev to his comrades, who were waiting for the turn to throw a shell, and rushed to screen a grenade.

The staff members confirmed that there was practically no time left for the choice of the battalion commander's decision, and he did not hesitate a bit - mass death of soldiers would not be avoided.

Noteworthy is the fact that on the day when the accident happened, important events were scheduled in Sergei's personal life. From the Kabardino-Balkarian republic, the future father-in-law of Solnechnikov should come to get to know his potential relative more closely. The girl Sergei - Olga - served from him nearby, in a nearby military unit. In general, the acquaintance was to be held after the events at the training ground. But everything happened differently.

Trying to save the major

After the incident, Solychnikov Sergey Alexandrovich, a hero whose biography deserves a detailed study, was immediately taken to the military hospital of Belogorsk.

The battalion commander's comrades hoped that their comrade would be able to save his life. For several hours the doctors did everything possible to keep Sergei in the ranks. But, alas, their attempts were powerless. Damage to the body was incompatible with life.

The death of the major was a real shock to all the servicemen of the unit. According to the soldier, after the death of the battalion commander in the barracks, silent silence reigned for a long time.

For a long time, many people were unable to recover from this terrible picture. Some even needed medical help. Everyone admired the act committed by Sergey Solnechnikov (Hero of Russia), and this loss is simply irreplaceable. "In the Russian army, such officers deserve the highest award," the soldiers say.

"Duty feat"

Fathers-commanders constantly repeat to their wards that any officer should be morally ready to commit such a feat, as Sol- necnikov did.

The mothers of the conscripts saved by the conscripts also believe that the savior of their sons should receive a high reward for such a brave act. With such an initiative, they even turned to the army headquarters.

"By the name of the Sun"

Sergei Solchnikov (Hero of Russia) had every chance to build a brilliant career in the army. The comrades spoke of him as a responsible, modest, competent and decent man. These qualities also helped him at the age of thirty to receive the honor of commanding a battalion. One of his colleagues noted that he was an exemplary battalion commander, who used an indisputable authority in part. Comrades called Sergei Alexandrovich "The Sun".

Investigation

Anyway, Sergey Solnechnikov's feat was the occasion for the initiation of a case initiated in spring 2012 by investigators of the military prosecutor's office. The crime was characterized by the following: "Violation of the rules for the handling of weapons, which resulted in the death of a person by imprudence". The detectives worked out absolutely all the versions of what happened. Naturally, the employees of the prosecutor's office were primarily interested in the issue of compliance with the law on the safety of military service.

Later, interviews with witnesses confirmed that the shell actually ricocheted about the mound in the fortification building.

The Sorcerer, who is close to Solnechnikov's firing position, could not see anything, because at the time when Zhuravlev had a metal grenade, he performed the command: "Lie down on the ground." However, together with the officer, he heard a distinct sound, which indicated that the grenade had landed in the parapet. Although the officer, too, did not observe the route of the munitions flight, but he saw how quickly Solochnikov and removed from the fire point of his subordinate - said one of the military prosecutor's office.

Guilty to look did not have to

Investigators wanted to immediately communicate with the culprit PE of Maxim Zhuravlev. Naturally, for him, what happened was a real test. He locked himself in himself and did not want to see anyone. After the incident, the soldier-conscript wanted to commit suicide. The situation was complicated by the fact that Zhuravlev's colleagues began to say openly that he was guilty of the death of their beloved battalion commander. But the investigation could not recover the exact picture of the incident and find out, as a result of which the state of emergency occurred. It was clear one thing: Sergei Solchnikov, whose photo appeared in the press immediately after the incident, performed a real feat.

To remove Maxim from the stressful state, he was sent to the sanitary unit, where he was to undergo a survey with a psychiatrist. Nevertheless, Maxim Zhuravlev became the No. 1 suspect in the criminal case, which was instituted on the fact of careless handling of ammunition. The soldier was placed under round-the-clock surveillance. The penalty for the crime is five years of imprisonment. But the suspect was identified in a psychiatric hospital. Only parents are allowed to contact him. At the same time, doctors say that Maxim Zhuravlev does not want to take his own life, but wants to continue serving.

Hero of our time

After the incident at the training ground, which after a while became known to the general public, Sergei Solochnikov, whose feat was on everyone's lips, was awarded a prestigious and honorary title - Hero of the Russian Federation.

Talk about the fact that the battalion commander acted like a real man, and that the true warriors had not yet been transferred to Mother Russia, then continued for a long time. The major's feat was even immortalized in verse. In honor of Sergey Solnechnikov, streets in several cities of the Amur Region were named.

Unfortunately, Sergei Solnechnikov did not manage to get a family, although the girl had a note in his mind. In the spring of 2012, the capital of the Amur Region hosted the opening of a stele in honor of a man who saved his colleagues at the cost of his own life. In addition, in the city of Belogorsk on the Walk of Fame, you can now see a plate with a star, which symbolizes the memory of Major Sergey Solnechnikov.

The funeral of the Hero of Russia took place in early April 2012 in the city of Volzhsky (Volgograd region). Shortly before his death, he wanted to take a vacation and see his parents. But fate decreed otherwise.

Instead of an epilogue

The parents of the hero were sorely grieved. But we should be grateful to them for the fact that they were able to educate a regular man and a true defender of his homeland, not a standard and ordinary warrior. And if we always remember the lesson that the battalion commander Sergei Solnechnikov taught us, then we will live our lives knowingly.
