A little later in the autumn, Nina went to study at the Communist University named after YM Sverdlov. In 1921, she was sent to the city of Bakhmut in the Donbass to teach at the local party school.

In 1922, she nearly died of typhus. The woman was firm and strong-willed. After a short time after the illness, she was sent to work: to train teachers in Taganrog. Nikita Khrushchev met in Yuzovka, where she worked in a party school.

Widow Khrushchev

At the time of acquaintance Khrushchev was already a young widower and had a son and a daughter. He married early. A handsome guy, a dancer, a harmonizer and an athlete was an enviable groom. No wonder the girls did not give him a pass. The first wife of Khrushchev - Efrosinya Pisarev. She was a real clever and beautiful. Unfortunately, the woman died of typhus, leaving Nikita two children. Khrushchev was very worried about the departure of his beloved, but he needed to live on. Since he was still very young, and the children needed a mother, he begged Nina Petrovna. Her warmth, friendliness, sincerity, and at the same time, her ambition won Nikita.

Fateful meeting

Nina Kukharchuk was a pretty Ukrainian woman with a boyish haircut and a round face. They were internally very similar - the children of their era. Nina had the gift of persuasion, good oratorical abilities. Since Kukharchuk was born in Poland, she knew three languages since her childhood:

  • Ukrainian;
  • Russian
  • Polish.

Later Nina Petrovna Khrushcheva mastered English perfectly. Her lack of education and primitiveness is nothing more than rumors that envious people have dismissed.

A simple communist

Nina Petrovna Khrushchev worked like everyone else. She did not think that anything was different from any other Soviet woman. Her working day began at eight in the morning, and she sometimes did not get home until nine o'clock. Nina Petrovna headed the party department at the electric lamp factory.

At work, she was traveling by tram. The woman could not even think about protecting. Until the mid-60's in her passport it was listed that her name was Nina Kukharchuk. The spouses did not see the need to register a relationship. They signed up only after Nikita Khrushchev resigned and they needed to be registered together in a new place.

Strong family and wisdom of her husband

In the marital life, Khrushchev (first secretary of the CPSU Central Committee) behaved according to the principles of independence psychology. He was hardly familiar with this doctrine, but he chose this tactic intuitively. He did not limit his family members in anything and respected the opinion of everyone. Respect other people's psychological boundaries is the key to a happy married life.

Children Khrushchev also engaged in what they wanted. Parents did not choose their profession for them, but gave the opportunity to develop the inherent abilities of nature. Rada and Yulia learned how to become a journalist. Elena devoted herself to jurisprudence. Son Sergei embodied his father's dream and became an engineer.

The children's house is full

Four Khrushchevs had three more children. The laughter of the children always sounded in their house. Nephews also loved to visit Nina. Nikita Sergeyevich's wife was sympathetic and kind, but at the same time strict and organized.

She did not deal with domestic issues. Just checked the instructions given to the servants. She never stood behind a stove, did not clean and did not bring comfort in the house. The couple lived on state-owned apartments. Here nothing belonged to them. And most importantly, she did not like to have alcohol in the house.

Funny delegation

In 1961, a couple of Khrushchevs went to Vienna to meet there with President John F. Kennedy. He was accompanied by his wife Jacqueline - tall, slim, with a tastefully dressed lady. It is impossible to look at their joint photo without a smile. Nina Khrushchev and Jacqueline Kennedy looked so funny. Nikita Sergeyevich's wife looked a bit strange to the "high society": half-thin hair, a simple dress that looked more like home clothes. But at the same time she behaved relaxed, smiling and joking. Inside this woman there was a fire that could warm anyone.

Nina Khrushcheva at the meeting struck everyone with excellent knowledge of English. She completely replaced the interpreter. The woman had an excellent education, spoke fluent in three languages. In addition, she came up to the visit responsibly and corrected the pronunciation in special courses.

Nikita Khrushchev and his wife went to a meeting with the US president to show that they can be closer to America, and that they are ready for a new twist in the relationship. These lovely, full and friendly people who did not fit into the general picture of "high society" made an excellent impression. Nobody expected that the huge and formidable USSR is run by an eccentric fat man, waving his boot and embarrassed at the sight of Hispanic dancers. Nina Khrushchev and Jacqueline Kennedy already half an hour after the meeting chatted like bosom friends.
