It is one of the most ancient fasteners, as it has been used by man since time immemorial. Archeologists found nails that belonged to bronze culture. These are forged and cast specimens. Later, when making nails, iron or copper wire was used. Until the beginning of the XIX century, all fasteners were made by hand. Then, special machines for making nails from wire were invented.
Today, building nails are made of different wire, different cross-section, diameter and length. All of them are used in certain cases. To fix it was reliable and durable, it is worth carefully choosing the nails, because if they are used for other purposes, the fastener will soon loosen up and make itself felt.
One of the varieties of nails are roofing nails. They are used for fastening to a tree of metal sheets, soft roofing or corrugated board. Such fasteners are produced with a flat smooth bonnet, they are made of low-carbon steel.
All nails used in construction can be either galvanized or non-galvanized. The second ones are relatively short-lived, therefore it is recommended to use them only for temporary fastening. In all other cases, it is better to choose galvanized nails.
