Scheme for connecting a single-key switch with a socket or two light bulbs

Installation of switches and their connection to lighting cause difficulties for the average user. Therefore, you first need to figure out how the simplest circuit for connecting a single-key single-pole switch works, and then more complicated ones.

Principle of work of illumination

For lighting the room, lamps of different types are used. For their inclusion, devices that close the electric circuit through the phase are used. The connection of the neutral wire is made to each lamp directly.

The simplest circuit for connecting a single -key switch provides power to one lamp or simultaneously to a whole group.

Key Features

  1. The wires in the junction box are connected by soldering or by means of Wago terminals. Twisting of wires is recommended to be used temporarily, as contact points are oxidized, after which their conductivity decreases, and there is additional resistance, leading to the release of heat.
  2. Installation work with wiring and fittings is performed with the electricity disconnected in the network. The absence of voltage is checked by the indicator screwdriver.
  3. The light switch always separates the phase, not the neutral. Due to this, the operation of electrical equipment and the replacement of lamps become safer, since the wiring can always be de-energized.
  4. To create the correct connections it is necessary to adhere to the color coding of the wires, where the phase is usually indicated by white, brown or black color, neutral - blue or blue, and grounding - yellow, green or yellow-green.

Tools and materials

Here's what you need in your work:

  • Pliers;
  • Screwdrivers;
  • Side cutters;
  • knife;
  • Soldering iron with solder and flux;
  • switch;
  • Cable or wire;
  • junction box.

Connecting one bulb

The scheme of connection of the one-key switch to the bulb ensures that only one switch is on and off. Most of the wire connections from the electrical panel, lamp and switch are made in the junction box. It has two input wires - a phase and a neutral.

Zero input immediately goes to the contact of the light bulb. The phase is first connected to the input of the switch, then back to the box, and lastly to the luminaire contact. Its metal body is grounded. Joining is not so difficult, although the veins can easily be confused.

Connecting a group of two or more lamps

The scheme of connecting a one-key switch to two lamps ensures their simultaneous ignition.

Lamps are connected in parallel: there are two black and two brown wires. The bends from the contact points go to the junction box, where one of them connects to the zero wire, and the other - to the phase wire through the switch. The connection of the contacts of the lamps is made directly on the luminaire. When choosing a switch it is important that its rating is not lower than the total power of the lamps.

Connection of a switch with a socket

When a circuit is planned for connecting a single-key switch with a socket, the main connections are made in a junction box.

The cross-section of the supply wire is 2.5 mm 2 , as is the case for outlets. Its stock is 10-15 cm. The socket is connected in parallel to the power supply, with the same conductor cross-section.

The input of the switch is a phase, and from the output it is connected to one of the two terminals of the luminaire. The neutral wire directly passes through the box and is connected to another lamp power contact. Here the section of the wiring is taken 1.5 mm 2 .

Scheme of connection of the switch of one-key passage

Incorporating light from 2 or more locations makes it easy to turn off one or several lights when required. The most common circuit is the connection of a single- key pass-through switch . Outside, it differs from simple by having an arrow on the key up and down. On the back side, it has one input and two output terminals. These switches are connected to each other in series.

The installation of pass-through switches presents difficulties for people who are not particularly versed in electrical engineering. First of all, it is necessary to take into account the difference in the design of the device, which is a switch for supplying current to one terminal, then to the other. The assembly is as follows.

  1. The phase is connected to terminal 1 of the switch PV1 through the box, and its outputs 2 and 3 are connected to the corresponding outputs 2 and 3 of the PV2.
  2. Input PV2 is connected to the phase terminal of the lamp. Neutral supply goes directly through the box to another contact of the luminaire.

Correctness is verified by its inclusion in the network and arbitrary switching of PV 1 and PV 2. At the same time, the lamp should be sequentially ignited and extinguished.

Cross switch

To turn on the lighting from more than 2 places, additional cross switches are required. When the crossing devices are cross-connected, the connection of a single-key light switch (the diagram below) allows to control the luminaire from 3 places.

The cross switch has 2 input and 2 output contacts. One switching of a key closes or opens two supply lines at once. In this connection, it is called a switch.

Important! The cross switch is only used separately to change the polarity of the circuit. To control the lighting, it is used together with two passageways. The assembly is done as follows.

  1. The standard way is to collect 2 PV.
  2. Between their contacts A and C, the cross switch is activated so that when any switching of any device is switched, the load circuit is alternately closed and opened. To do this, outputs A and C MF 1 must be connected to the X and W cross inputs, and its outputs Y and Z to the outputs D and F MF 2.

If you include similar ones in series with the cross switch, the number of lighting control points will increase.

Connectivity features of the cross switch

Since the circuit with the cross switch is more complicated, it is necessary to consider the following when installing it.

  1. The wiring is made by a four-wire cable.
  2. Complex projects require an increase in the number of cable cores. Electricians prefer instead of a complex scheme to collect a few simple, more reliable.

Mounting the lighting system from 3 places

  1. Drawing up the scheme.
  2. Grouting grooves for wiring and holes for fittings.
  3. Mounting accessories on the wall. The box is chosen with the calculation of placing 12 connections and wires from it in other systems.
  4. Installing the machine in the control panel and laying the cable from it to the junction box.
  5. Connect the zero conductor to the lamp contact.
  6. Connecting the phase conductor to the input of the first PV and beyond. Switch contacts are connected through a junction box.
  7. Connection of the phase output from the last switch to the lamp contact.

Conclusion

With simple switches, you can control lighting from one point, and through one from two or more. The scheme of connection of the switch of one button to lighting is the basis for all other types of models. Outwardly, all the switches are similar. The difference between them is determined by the number of terminals on the rear side.
