Salt deposition on the neck: causes, symptoms, treatment and consequences
Cervical osteochondrosis is a chronic, slowly developing disease, the first symptom of which is pain in the shoulder and neck area during physical activity. With age, the situation is aggravated. Gradually degeneration of the vertebral joints, which is caused by the deterioration of the cartilage, which, in turn, leads to arthritis.
A person who leads a sedentary lifestyle, condemns himself to the deposition of salts on the neck. Limited mobility, improper position of the body behind the wheel or behind the desk - all this contributes to the development of diseases of the spine. A person must be flexible and active. If not, every turn of the head, body or exercise will start to cause pain. The deposition of salts on the neck is usually an acute disease that changes into a chronic form with exacerbations.
The type of treatment depends on the severity of the disease. In the initial phase, the main method is physiotherapy. Further treatment includes:
- Pharmaceutical pain therapy (muscle relaxants, opiates, etc.).
- Physiotherapy (electrotherapy, ultrasound, heat treatment, etc.).
- Treatment with the help of injections (trigger, blockade of nerves, etc.).
- Physiotherapy.
- Transplantation of intervertebral discs.
Surgical treatment is always the last option. Sometimes there are cases when the operation is mandatory. For example, with a herniated intervertebral disc.
The following surgical procedures are available:
- Increase the width of the spinal canal.
- Implantation of the intervertebral disc prosthesis.
The initiated deposition of salts on the neck, the treatment of which was not carried out in time, can cause problems with the mobility of the brush. In very severe cases, violations of the mobility of the fingers develop - they almost lose their functionality. All these symptoms can significantly undermine human health, but the main risk of cervical osteochondrosis is that it can disrupt cerebral circulation.
The vertebral artery passing between the vertebrae is a large blood vessel that nourishes the greater part of the brain and a violation of its blood flow can cause a stroke.
The first signs of dorsal artery syndrome and cerebral blood supply disorders are regular headaches in the morning, pain in the neck, a throbbing headache, which increases when the head turns, accompanied by noise in the ears, dizziness, visual impairment, nausea, and sometimes vomiting.
If the disease is not treated, then it will progress, and cerebral vascular insufficiency will change into a chronic form . The brain will constantly suffer from a lack of oxygen, will develop vegeto-vascular dystonia, blood pressure jumps, hypertension, fainting, a stroke is possible. In addition, a permanent lack of oxygen can lead to a rapid deterioration of brain function and memory, the development of dementia.
The deposition of salts on the neck can also cause a heart syndrome: pain in the region of the heart, between the shoulder blades, behind the breastbone, which become stronger when coughing or sneezing. They arise as a result of compression (squeezing) of the spinal roots with bone and fibrous growths, which cause a reflex reduction of the coronary arteries. Even in the absence of cardiovascular disease, the situation can become critical and lead to myocardial infarction.
Cervical osteochondrosis is not as harmless a disease as many of us tend to think, considering it only with pain and an unpleasant crunch in the neck. If you do not pay proper attention to health, it can lead to disaster.
