Salt addicts: signs of drug use and consequences

The most terrible drug of our time, literally destroying the lives of thousands of young people across the country, is by no means heroin and not even a fashionable amphetamine. Today, so-called "bath salts" have become very popular. In most major cities, you can find inscriptions that offer salt, spice or just speed. Under them is the phone number or e-mail address of the seller. How did it happen that the sale of drugs is conducted directly on the streets of the city and on the Internet? Why can no one stop the heartless salt sellers who are cashing in on another's grief?

Salt

In order to understand who such salt addicts are, it is necessary to understand what kind of substance these "bath salts" are for. The phenomenon is quite new, coming to us together with legal smoking mixtures in the early 2000s. Under the guise of bath salts, a wide variety of substances can be sold, but most often it is MDPV. In comparison with this drug, cocaine is just a children's toy. Insidious salts destroy their users tens of times faster than classical stimulants, moreover, with dependence on them it is much more difficult to fight. Many narcologists do not even know how to help a salt addict.

The effect of a deadly novelty does not last long, but the side effect will haunt its victim for long hours. Degradation from salts is rapid and inevitable. Literally a couple of months can be enough to completely destroy the personality and body of the addict. Moreover, even after stopping the use of the drug, mental abnormalities may remain and even progress.

Legality

The greatest problem in the fight against "bath salt" is its legality. No matter how much you forbid malicious formulas, craftsmen immediately come up with new ones that can be sold on absolutely legal grounds. The problem is that more and more terrifying substances are being invented in pursuit of legality, in comparison with which the old salts were quite safe. Obviously, to solve this problem, absolutely new laws are needed, and not an addition of the old ones.

Contacts sellers are usually in sight. That is, e-mail addresses, store sites and even mobile phone numbers can be easily found on the Internet, and even on the wall of your own home. But it is not easy to calculate traders with dubious pleasure. Moreover, even if the drug dealer is caught, it is almost impossible to hold him accountable. Law enforcers perfectly understand what he does, and what effect his goods have on people. But they are not on the list of prohibited substances. And this means that a crafty businessman may be out on the next day to continue his wicked business.

Spread

People think that drugs are bought from a gloomy person in a cloak, standing somewhere in a dark gateway. But these times are long gone. Now sellers of insanity do not risk their precious skin, personally meeting with buyers. The fan of "bath salts" simply throws money at the dealer's electronic account, after which he sends him the location of the "bookmark". The drug can be hidden anywhere. Parks, garages, benches at the entrance - any place can contain desired powder.

Another common phenomenon - stalls, openly selling "bath salts." Usually they have an inconspicuous appearance, but those who need it, perfectly know what kind of place. Despite the obvious fact of the sale of drugs, such places can exist for months and even years. Usually, they are closed only after local people take up their work.

Spice

Indispensable companions of bath salts are legal smoking mixtures, or spices. They got their name from an English company that produced similar products many years ago. However, the huge damage to the health and psyche of buyers forced the British to put an end to the sale of smoking mixtures, but their idea was immediately picked up by dealers from around the world. Spices are sold under the guise of incense, but this cover is, rather, a symbolic character. In fact, almost any chemical substance can be applied to the smoking mixture, so that it can be incredibly poisonous. Salt addicts often use and spice, because they are sold by the same people.

The effect of synthetic smoking substances can be very different, but in most cases it causes a stupid "vegetable" state in its fans. They can lie for hours without moving, as if being in a half-light. With the constant use of smoking mixtures, memory begins to suffer, intellect decreases, the skin can acquire a yellowish shade. People who are dependent on spices, cease to be interested in anything else. Their whole life is aimed at getting and using a smoking mixture, the rest does not bother them much.

MIRV

Methylenedioxylpyravalerone, or MDPV, is the most common and dangerous of "legal" drugs. In its purest form it has long been banned, but chemists constantly change the formula to continue their disastrous cause. This stimulator attracts young people in that it is presented as absolutely legal, and therefore a safe means. However, the photos of salt addicts, emaciated and distraught, prove the opposite. The damage from "bath salts" is hardly inferior to heroin. But the low price and affordability make MDPV much more dangerous than conventional drugs.

Many people start to use this salt occasionally, on holidays. But over time it grows into a daily need. For a stronger effect, drug users start intravenous injection of MDPV. This substance has low dosages, so an inattentive addict can easily die from an unsuccessful injection.

Effects of salt

Such readily available "bath salts" are the most dangerous stimulant, the effect of which lasts not for long. The person experiences a short-term euphoria, it seems to him that he is capable of everything. Salt addicts often behave arrogantly, their thoughts are confused, they put forward stupid ideas and build impracticable plans. A person under the influence of salt can not concentrate on anything, his thoughts are confused, he is inclined to spend hours working on useless monotonous activity.

As a result of exhaustion and constant stimulation of people who consume salt, very unfortunate consequences await. Salt addicts often visit visions and auditory hallucinations. If most addicted people calm down, as soon as they get the desired dose, salt lovers can show aggression at any time.

Paranoia

Salt addicts live in constant fear. Paranoid thoughts visit their blurred heads every minute. Even if everything around is good, and there is not the slightest hint of concern, their inflamed mind will still make up a negative outline of what is happening. Salt addicts tightly curtain the windows and close the doors to all locks, but this does not save them from paranoia. Everyone can in an instant become an enemy within their inflamed fantasy.

If the effect of the drug was long, the paranoid thoughts begin to be reinforced by hallucinations, both auditory and visual. This sometimes pushes lovers of "bath salts" to impulsive actions. They can cause significant harm to others, thinking that they save their lives.

Symptoms of salt addict

A person using a MDPV is not always easy to recognize. At first, it is not too different from ordinary passers-by. But if the salt addict has been using a stimulant for several days, characteristic signs begin to appear. Sometimes the appearance of such a person does not give off any addiction, but the behavior is already starting to get out of control. The salt addict constantly looks around, as if someone is watching him. He can tremble a little, his limbs involuntarily twitch. Usually lovers of salt have a pale, exhausted look and a strange wild look that betrays a serious psychosis that devours the addict from the inside. They are confused, they often lose the thread of conversation and jump from one thought to another or, conversely, get hung up on one thing.

Breaking

It's not easy to say what a breakdown is in a salt addict. Her physical manifestations are not the same as those that cause heroin, but psychic addiction can haunt a drug addict for many years. The main thing is to protect a person from access to drugs for the first two weeks. First, it will be especially hard for him, but this is, rather, the residual effect of taking drugs. It manifests itself in the fact that the poor fellow can not fall asleep and will experience a serious mental disorder.

In addition to the shattered psyche, the body will also remind of itself. The destructive effect that salt has on the body will finally manifest itself. Prior to this, the addict, being under the stimulant, did not feel how much his body suffers. But after giving up the drug, he most likely begins to ache, tasting the consequences of an excessively merry life. It is still difficult to say how many salt addicts live, as this is a fairly new phenomenon. But already now it can be confidently asserted that only two years of drinking salt can, if not kill a person, then certainly make him disabled.

Treatment

Even narcologists, who have a rich experience of getting rid of heroin addiction, admit that it is almost impossible to help fans of bath salts. The salt addicts are too far removed from reality. The treatment of these people is difficult for the reason that they flatly refuse to consider themselves dependent. Moreover, it is sometimes impossible to convince a drug addict that salt is a drug in general.

The situation is aggravated by the fact that even a few months on "bath salts" cause so monstrous damage to the psyche that a person is no longer able to distinguish reality from fiction. Such people are no longer able to work, study, or interact with society in any other way.

How to deal with salt?

Unfortunately, there is still no clear answer to this question. Despite all attempts by the government to legislatively solve this problem, the malignant powder is becoming more widespread among young people. Obviously, this method of combating drugs does not work. How many substances are not included in the list of banned, this will not give any result. We need to offer adolescents an alternative. For example, to make sports more prestigious among schoolchildren. After all, if a person has a hobby that gives him pleasure, he will hardly be looking for an opportunity to get away from reality. It remains only to hope that in the future this problem will be solved.
