Rakit bush: description

It may seem unexpected to many that the rocket bush has nothing to do with the same, sung in the songs. They are completely different botanical families and their characteristics are different. About this unusual plant, which has the name Rakit bush, you can read in this article.

Family broom

To this kind belongs a yellow acacia, familiar to all from childhood , which is growing quite actively and densely flowering. From her tender pods, many made whistles, well and loudly sounding.

About 60 species of the genus Rakitnik are known. Rakit bush is quite popular among gardeners. Its distribution, except for Russia, was noted in Africa, Europe and Asia.

There are certain differences in the usual acacia and broomstick. In a yellow acacia (tree-shaped caragana), which is related to other acacias only in a common family (legumes), the leaves are several pairs of small leaves. A broom often has triple leaves, located on the stem in the next order.

Flowers in the form of moths at the broom, close to the branches in the flowering period, almost hide from the eyes of its small leaves. And the flowers are well attracted to the attention of insects, but sharp spikes, located on the branches, do not admit the enemies to the bushes.

In Italy, the broomstick is called the coal miner's Duck because it often grows near coal mines. Next, we will describe the rakit bush in a little more detail.

Description

The broom is a kind of deciduous shrub, less often small trees from the family of legumes. For the most part, these are deciduous, semi-or evergreen plants, some with small spines.

Rokitniki are beautiful meadows, but many species are poisonous. The height of the plant varies greatly depending on the growth conditions and species: the largest ones reach 4-5 meters, the middle ones - 2 meters, the lowest grow to 0.5 meters. There are also creeping plants of this species, whose growth reaches about 20 cm.

Rakit bush has small leaves on flexible thin branches. In form they are triple or single. Some of them begin to bloom in the spring (early or late), and others - in the summer.

Similar in shape to the pea blossoms of the broomstick are beautiful, collected in axillary brushes: a large upper petal like a sail, two narrow elongated side lobes like wings and two small petals knit together in a shuttle. They decorate the broomstick for a month. Coloring them the most diverse, depends on the type and hybrid: yellow, white, pink, lilac, red. There are two-color varieties in nature.

And the smell is different for different types of flowers: pleasant, sharp, thin. Blossoming under the most favorable conditions for the growth of the broom is so abundant that the flowers completely hide the branches of the bush.

A little about the peculiarities of growing a broom

Rakit bush is unpretentious. He equally well tolerates both high and low temperatures, but still prefers to grow in lighter sunny places.

Rakitniki, depending on the species, can grow in both calcareous and acidic soils. Suitable for shrubs even sandy infertile soil, but loose and with good drainage. In the case of growing bushes in flower pots, regular watering is required. And the plant growing in the open ground is resistant to drought and practically does not require watering. Cultures potted once in two months should be fed organic, and combine the top dressing with another watering.

In general, the bushes of the broomstick look great, especially during the flowering period in any urban park areas and on personal plots. They are a great addition to any landscape design.
