Acacia yellow - a plant that does not require care

There are two types of plants that are commonly called acacia. They are of different kinds and outwardly not at all alike. The first is robinia, or white acacia. It is a tree, reaching 25 m in height, and up to 1 m in diameter. It blooms in May, after which flat pods are formed with gray or black beans inside.

Due to its origin, it can also be called "southern acacia". Flowers, bark of young shoots and leaves of plants are widely used for medicinal purposes. However, when consumed in large quantities, you can get serious poisoning, because it is poisonous.

The second type of plant is a tree-shaped caragana, or acacia is yellow. It is a shrub that grows from 2 to 7 meters in height. Often, the plant is used as a hedge.

The yellow acacia is unpretentious, wind-resistant, winter-hardy and grows well in the shade. The quality of the soil also does not play a special role, it feels equally comfortable in dry or damp earth. It is often used for landscaping cities.

During the dry summer acacia yellow can discard part of the leaves. This reduces the amount of evaporated moisture, and the plant easily tolerates very hot weather.

Shrub is considered to be a family of legumes. He can accumulate nitrogen in the soil. Leaves reach a length of 8 cm and have from 4 to 8 pairs of leaves oblong or oval with a tip at the end.

Acacia yellow blossom begins by the end of May or early June, and continues flowering 2-2.5 weeks. In the northern zone, this process can last for 3 weeks. Yellow flowers externally resemble a butterfly. They can grow one at a time or be collected in bundles of 3-5 pieces.

After the flowering begins to form fruit. They appear only on the 4th year of plant life and have a length of 5-6 cm. Each bean contains up to 8 small seeds that ripen already in July. Further, the leaflets open and curl. So the seeds get into the soil, and due to the small size, the wind can carry them to a great distance.

Acacia yellow reproduces by shifts and grows quite rapidly. It is necessary to prepare them in advance, ripping off unripe pods when the leaves begin to change color and become firm.

The next year in early spring, the seeds are soaked in water for several hours, and then they are sown in prepared soil. Acacia yellow strongly expands in width. Therefore, when used in ornamental horticulture, it is pruned 1-2 times a year. Kupirovanie roots and branches of acacia tolerate well. She can live up to 70 years.

Also, the bush is very popular for breeding in the apiary. He is an excellent honeycomb. Beekeepers are very fond of this plant. Honey from acacia turns out good quality and has a light yellow color.

Flowering shoots, bark and leaves of the plant have found their application and for medicinal purposes. They are used in the form of infusions and broths that are taken or added to the bathtubs. They perfectly help with respiratory diseases, atherosclerosis, heartburn, headache, liver diseases, and also speed up the metabolism. Unlike white, acacia yellow is not poisonous.
