Proper feeding of kittens

When a kitten appears in the house, for a long time it is he who becomes the main member of the family, which requires maximum care and attention. Let's talk about such an important matter as the proper feeding of kittens. After all, it is often from food that the health and future longevity of your pet depends.

A very small kitten is best suited, of course, mother's milk. But already in the third week it can be fed from a bottle of cow, slightly diluted with water.

The lure of the kittens is introduced after the first month of life: they begin to give fried boiled chicken and low-fat beef. Pieces of meat can not yet be given, because the animal is unlikely to chew and swallow it.

Well suited and sour-milk products - like sour cream, kefir, yogurt. It is very useful to give a mixture of milk and egg yolk.

In the period from one and a half to three months in a diet of a kitten gradually add porridges and vegetables. It is necessary to alternate cereals, vegetables, fish and meat. The frequency of feeding at this age is five to six times a day, the daily rate is approximately 150-180 grams. A period of up to three months is extremely important for the future development of the animal, so it is necessary to carefully monitor the quality and balance of nutrition.

During the fourth month of life, special feeding can be introduced into the feeding of kittens. It is best to start with moist canned food, and then offer a pet and dry food soaked in water. The norm of the day is 180-200 grams of food. At the age of three months to six months in the kittens are cut permanent teeth, so for a while there may be problems with chewing, a general lethargic state, a sluggish stool. If the baby came to the bowl with food, tried several times to bite and walked away - then, most likely, it hurts him to chew. During this period, the feed should be soft and homogeneous.

By the seventh month the kitten is more like an adult animal, it accumulates almost two thirds of its final weight. Starting from this period, it is already possible to give him the usual food, which is fed by adult cats and cats, and transferred to three meals a day. On average, the daily volume of food is 200-250 grams per day.

After a year, the cats are normally fed only twice a day, while maintaining a constant daily amount of food in the area of the previous two hundred grams.

Good feeding of kittens:

1) Be sure to stand around the clock bowl with clean water. The capacity to wash and water needs to be changed daily.

2) Milk porridge with oatmeal, buckwheat, mango.

3) Sour-milk diet products.

3) Several times a week - cream and boiled yolk.

4) Finely chopped boiled meat - chicken, turkey, beef. You can also give thawed minced meat without spices.

5) Boiled lean fish - cod, hake.

6) Unsalted soups with meat.

If feeding of kittens consists of natural products, then it is necessary to add special vitamins such as "Biophar" or "Farmavit". If the diet consists of quality dry food and canned food, then you do not need to give vitamins - the whole complex is already included in such food.

Categorically it is impossible:

1) Fatty grades of meat.

2) Remains of dinner or dinner from your table.

3) Salty, spicy food.

4) Sweets, especially chocolate.

5) Fish and chicken bones.

6) Potatoes and any kinds of legumes.

Of course, from the first days you need to accustom your pet to the rules of nutrition. Unequivocally, you can not feed him with slices from your table. First, these dishes are most often not designed for cats and can cause digestive problems, and secondly - you inculcate bad habits in your pet. Cats in general very quickly get used to certain food behavior, so they will then beg for food from the hosts and guests, steal from the table.

Another important point: your pet should not have round the clock access to food. Dosage the food strictly by the volume of feed - divide it into the required number of feedings and do not give it too much, or take the bowl out of reach. Now the problem of obesity is very actual not only for people, but also for their pets. Therefore, it is necessary to teach the kittens to the normal volume of food from the very childhood.

Feeding kittens is universal and does not depend on the breed. The only thing that can vary is the daily volume of food. For large breeds, it is slightly higher, and it is better not to overfeed small animals.

The feeding of British kittens is somewhat different, because food can influence the color of the coat, which is important for exhibition animals. Breeders have noticed that carrots, liver and seafood can obscure the hair - and this is very evident, especially on cats of blue color.
