Pre-insult condition. Signs and first aid

The pre-stroke state occurs in patients with hypertension and cerebral atherosclerosis. In the risk group are also people who abuse alcohol and those in whose families there are patients with cardiac or vascular diseases. As a rule, this condition is a harbinger of the fact that the affected people have circulatory disorders in the vessels of the brain, which is either functional or organic. Moreover, blood pressure at such times can as dramatically increase, and, conversely, fall to uncharacteristic indicators.

Pre-insult condition: symptoms

As a rule, the pre-sults state is characterized by dizziness, severe nausea, urges to vomit and a sharp headache, which is usually localized in the occipital part and is accompanied by noise in the ears, a feeling of darkening in the eyes, and sometimes worse vision. Often patients describe a feeling of strong inner tension, from which it seems that everything "rings" inside. Thus, the patient can feel a dangerous condition simply physically. Needless to say, this all threatens the life of the patient. Especially elderly people and those who lead a sedentary lifestyle.

Consequences of pre-stroke state

The pre-insult condition is dangerous first of all in that at any moment it may occur a blockage of the vessels of the brain or their rupture. This can lead to death in almost 15 minutes (among other things, stroke is on the 5th place among the causes of death of people). In the best case, the patient is paralyzed: partial (one side of the body) or full. Often, such paralysis is accompanied by a complete loss of speech or the inability to pronounce certain sounds, as well as a greater or lesser degree of disruption in the ability to understand what has been said. Therefore, timely recognition of the symptoms of impending stroke and providing the patient with quality first aid will save his life and give a chance for full rehabilitation in the future.

Help the patient with suspected pre-sults

If the patient has the symptoms listed above, you should immediately call an ambulance. In the first aid kit of each hypertensive patient it is necessary to keep "Glycine", tablets that improve cerebral circulation. They are put under the tongue at the time of the pre-sultural state. And the "Semax" drips 3 drops into each nostril. This will help to remove the force of the attack and wait for an ambulance.

At this time, you need to put the patient so that his head is above the surface on which the patient is lying, and use for this pillows, blankets or clothes. Be sure to provide the patient with free air access, untie the belt, unbuttoning his narrow clothes and opening the window in the room where he is. If there is a vomiting attack, it is necessary to turn the patient sideways, which will protect the respiratory tract, and substitute a bag or container. After that, his mouth is cleaned.

And most importantly, do not fuss! Do not show the patient their confusion and fear - this can only worsen the situation. The pre-stroke state, the signs of which have been described above, can be eased if you do everything calmly and correctly.
