What is increased sweating and how to deal with it

Increased sweating (hyperhidrosis) is, as a rule, the cause of severe discomfort for those who suffer from its manifestation. And to such people, among other things, up to 1% of the world's population.

The states that cause hyperhidrosis can be divided into 2 groups: those that have a known cause (thyroid diseases, tuberculosis, lymphogranulomatosis and the like), as well as those that do not have a pronounced source of the problem. In the first case, after recovering from the underlying disease, a person forgets about what an excessive sweating, as it disappears with the ailment. We will talk about the case when it is not yet possible to understand the reasons for such a reaction.

The mechanism of the appearance of essential hyperhidrosis

There are two varieties of the human nervous system: somatic and vegetative. And if the first is our arbitrary actions: dial the phone number or pick up a spoon, etc., then the second is imperceptible to our consciousness functions: the work of the stomach, palpitations, breathing and others. The vegetative system takes part in the regulation of body temperature. In order to reduce it, the evaporation of moisture from the surface of the skin increases. It is for this that our sweat glands are responsible.

With essential hyperhidrosis, the autonomic nervous system causes sweat glands to work in a strengthened mode as a result of a slight excitement, which causes sweat on the skin that does not have time to evaporate. This, of course, makes a person worry about ugly wet clothes, which causes more sweating. It turns out a vicious circle: you worry - sweat - worry.

Due to the fact that microbes develop well in a moist environment, excessive sweating of the feet, hands, back is accompanied by an unpleasant odor. And this is very unpleasant for the people around you.

How to deal with the fact that you have excessive sweating

Antiperspirants are most effective in reducing this problem. They, due to the content of salts of aluminum, zinc, lead, iron, zirconium, formaldehyde and ethyl alcohol, suppress sweating. Thanks to this deodorant, up to 40% of the sweat glands are blocked. And it often almost eliminates noticeable sweating.

In the pharmacy you can buy Teimurov paste, which is applied for 20 minutes to the most sweaty areas of the skin, and then washed off. The course lasts only 5 days.

In the case where this is inefficient, more radical means are needed to solve the problem. If you have excessive sweating of the armpits, the treatment is performed by removing skin areas with a lot of sweat glands.

To solve the problem, botox is used, which blocks
Functioning of nerve endings. However, its effect, as a rule, lasts no more than 4 months, after which the hyperhidrosis returns.

Another method is curettage. In this case, scraping of the zone where the sweat glands are located. This causes their damage and, as a consequence, the termination of functioning.

Elevated sweating is also treated with iontophoresis. In problem areas, substances that help reduce hyperhidrosis are introduced with the help of a current. By the way, this method is considered the safest.
