Why is there a weight in the heart?

The human heart is a muscular body that measures approximately the fist of the person to whom it belongs. The weight of the body is on average 300 grams for men and 250 grams for women. The heart is symmetrically divided into two parts - right and left. Each part consists of two chambers. The upper chamber - the atrium - is designed to collect blood. The lower chamber is called the ventricle, in which there are inlet and outlet valves to prevent reverse flow of blood. The inner walls and partitions of the heart consist of a complex layered muscle tissue called the myocardium.

The main function of the heart is the continuous circular movement of blood throughout the body. Impulses to contraction are automatically born in him. This property of self-excitation is provided by means of a conducting system inside the myocardium. This system has the ability to generate its own impulses, and also conducts electrical impulses that come from the nervous system. All impulses in aggregate cause excitation and contraction of the myocardium. The impulses themselves appear in one part of the heart - in the right atrium. They make you make rhythmic cuts.

This body carries a tremendous load, due to which it is often subject to various negative influences. Therefore, we often feel a heaviness in the chest. Some are mistaken, they think that it is the chest or thorax that hurts, but it never occurs to them that it is a burden in the heart. This means that problems have arisen in the work of the entire organ or in vessels that carry blood to the heart. What are the causes of painful feelings, why does the heaviness of the heart appear?

1. With prolonged experiences or stress, adrenaline is released into the blood - a stress hormone that causes constriction and vasospasm, a heaviness in the heart. At the same time, blood circulation is disrupted, as a result, heart rate is increasing, there is a feeling of lack of air, discomfort. There are pain sensations in the form of tingling in the region of the left breast, the so-called feeling "lump in the throat". These manifestations are not associated with physical exertion and are aggravated during disturbances.

2. Another cause of the appearance of severity is hormonal disorders. They are manifested, as a rule, before or during menstruation, when the body is reconstructed at the hormonal level. At this time, there may be stabbing pain in the region of the heart, intensifying with inspiration. The hormonal background in women is reconstructed during menopause, and during this period also there is a heaviness in the heart, which is manifested by pressing, pricking and constricting sensations. Blood pressure jumps during this period can also cause unstable work and severity.

3. Very often pain and heaviness in the heart occur with vegetovascular dystonia. These pains are of a different nature and are similar to myocardial infarction or an attack of angina pectoris. In this case, the use of nitroglycerin does not help, because the pain in the body is not associated with physical exertion.

4. Very unfavorably affects the heart and the violation of biorhythms, the causes of which can be night shifts, lack of daytime rest, change of time zones. In such situations, the heart and blood vessels work around the clock, experiencing stress, after which there may be a spasm of blood vessels and an increase in blood pressure. Begin to disturb the pressing or stitching pain.

5. The excessive (systematic or long-term) consumption of alcoholic drinks also has a detrimental effect. Alcohol that enters the blood, literally in a few minutes dramatically increases the frequency of contractions of the heart muscle, contributes to increased production of adrenaline. Because of this, the demand for myocardium in oxygen increases, which in turn increases the need for the heart in more blood. There is a heaviness behind the sternum, a heart rhythm is broken.
