Pre-election campaigning - types and objectives

In any country there is a certain political system. The state is governed by elective power. That is, each representative is elected by the people. But pre-election campaigning is carried out before that. Each candidate for deputy or president tries to "lure" the largest number of citizens to his side (to support the elections).

Agitation is the advertisement of political power in the pre-election period. At the same time, the party or organization discloses its programs (plans for further actions in the position), gives certain promises to voters. They may not be fulfilled. The most important thing is to attract the electorate.

Types of pre-election campaigning

Agitation can be quite diverse. Distribution of leaflets with the candidate's program, television debates, direct communication with the people (electorate), appearances on television and radio, regular advertising and so on. This list can be continued for a long time. The above examples are the main types of pre-election campaigning.

In a few months, the so-called "pre-election race" begins. It is during this period that intensive campaigning by the political forces or individuals of the population of the state begins.

If there are elections to the deputies (parliaments) then the pre-election campaign begins with the announcement of candidates who are part of one or another political force. The second stage is the announcement of the pre-election program. Only then do all other agitation systems come into effect.

One of the most common agitation systems are various types of political advertising and television debates. Both the first and the second species are successfully used by various political forces. It can be organizations, individuals, parties or associations.

Political advertising as a form of agitation

In order to attract voters to their side, political forces use various methods. They give all the achievements in various spheres of public or state activity to the attention of the electorate. At the same time they try to defame their competitors. This happens as follows. Voters see before themselves the logo of the organization, party or candidate. At the same time this force tells about all its achievements in the past, and says that it can do in the future. As for their opponents, then they remember all the mistakes that were made.

The pre-election campaign is conducted in different planes. That is, the actions of candidates are not limited to morality. Opponents "pour mud at each other", while trying not to "get messed up" themselves. Quite often you can hear pretty loud promises from each side. At the same time, political forces do not pay too much attention to whether a voter will believe them or not. Some "impure" politicians try to enlist the support of some voters by means of ordinary bribery. This election campaign is not very fair. But no one can do anything about it. In case of any questions from opponents, a simple answer follows: "This is not bribery, it's just a gift."

Thus, pre-election campaigning is conducted by various methods. There are several options for this type of attracting supporters to their side. Many ways are not too honest. But this does not stop a single political force in the world.

The only goal for the candidates is to gain support from the majority of the electorate and to discredit, in the eyes of ordinary citizens, their direct competitors to this position. In this case, the world-famous slogan comes into force - "the ends justify the means" and "no one judges the winners".
