History

The stone building for the theater was built in 1897 by the design of VA Schröret. He was in the service of the Russian emperor. The name of the outstanding director of the USSR NP Okhlopkov was awarded to the theater in the second half of the 20th century. The reason was the fact that this talented person started his career here. The title of academic theater was awarded already at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries - in 1999. And in 2006 the team was awarded the prize named after F. Volkov. Now the theater has two stages - the main and the chamber. His artistic director is GV Shaposhnikov. Director of the theater is AA Streltsov.

The Museum

Drama Theater Okhlopkov (Irkutsk) offers viewers to visit their museum. It was created in 1988. The idea of opening the museum belongs to the well-deserved artist of Russia V.P. Sidorchenko. The exposition tells about the history of the creation of the theater in the city and about the construction of the building in which it "lives" to this day. Projects
