Obligations of a citizen. What are they?

A democratic government is created in order to serve the people. However, such a system of government implies certain duties of the citizen, which he must rigorously carry out. Otherwise, government will be impossible. However, in addition to the duties of the population, there are certain freedoms, in particular, the right to disagree with the work of the government and express their discontent in public.

Note that if a person is a citizen of a democratic country, this requires him to behave correctly, be patient and participate in the life of the state. All duties of citizens are agreed, i. Each person, when he agrees to the citizenship of a particular country, automatically accepts all the conditions of existence in it.

In addition, people also accept that democracy requires the population to pay certain costs and efforts, because it needs constant support and control from the people.

The legislation of some countries provides that citizens must sit in a jury for a certain period of time, and also be in civil and military service. However, the duties of the citizen do not end there. One of the main things in this scheme is observance of the law. Then, among others, they call obligatory payment of taxes, recognition of the government, respect for other people's views, which radically differ from the generally accepted ones.

Every citizen should be aware that he is responsible for the society in which they live. Because of this, they can rely on the fact that their rights will be protected.

It should be noted that the rights and duties of a citizen must be realized in practice. Each of us must be an active member of society, because this determines the success of the government and the degree of productivity of its work. From the side of civil servants there must be an awareness that all citizens are equal before the law, therefore they deserve the same attitude to themselves. In this issue, the issue of a bribe that is categorically unacceptable in a democratic society is not the last place.

Also, the duty of a citizen of a democratic state is that he should peacefully identify a protest against a government that does not suit him on certain criteria. Another way to get out of this situation is to actively participate in elections, which allows you to change political leaders within a time limit established by law.

It should be noted that every citizen has the right to join a party chosen by him in accordance with his political views and to take an active part in its activities. Being a member of the party, a person can run for a certain position and be in power for a certain period, regulated by law. In order to express their opinion on issues of local or national importance, citizens can use the free press. In addition, you can join private organizations that express their interests (sports, cultural, religious). All these groups operate within the state and contribute to the development of the country and its position in the international arena.

Note that all rights and obligations of a citizen are described and characterized in the relevant legislation of a certain country. It is this document that regulates officially those provisions that give every citizen the opportunity to realize themselves in society and to obtain protection of their own rights.

The population of a democratic state has certain freedoms that guarantee it the ability to regulate the system of power and actively participate in its change.
