Early pregnancy detection

The definition of early pregnancy is an important question in any case - if it is an unwanted or desirable pregnancy. To date, there are many methods that almost one hundred percent allow you to establish a pregnancy at the earliest possible date.

If you recall the physiology, you can distinguish the following points. It is worth considering that the pregnancy began from the time the zygote was dropped into the uterus and attached to the thickness of the endometrium. Otherwise, even a fertilized egg can come out with a monthly one. Since the time when the uterus is tightly enveloping the future baby, special hormones are beginning to be released that are responsible for inhibiting menstruation. Just the first delay coincides with a high concentration of chorionic gonadotropin, which prevents the peeling of the endometrium. Provided that all these steps are completed, and the embryo is firmly attached to the uterus, we can talk about the onset of pregnancy.

The definition of pregnancy in the early stages is possible in several ways:

  1. Test strips - they are sold in any pharmacy. Since the action of the strips is based on the determination of the level of gonadotropin in the urine, it makes sense to do the test after the first day of delay of the menstrual period. Although, if a woman plans a pregnancy and will do it ahead of time (before the delay), especially sensitive tests will be able to show the weak two strips. And after the delay they will be more distinct. Such tests are recommended to be done in the morning, when the level of chorionic gonadotropin in urine is the highest.
  2. If a woman has had problems with fertilization, then doctors advise doing a test for gonadotropin by a blood test. It is in the blood already when in the urine its concentration is still low. Usually a week after the "successful" sexual intercourse, pregnancy can be diagnosed. Defining gonadotropin indicators, doctors receive invaluable data. At low rates, it is possible to suspect in time a frozen pregnancy, ectopic or a threat of miscarriage, which can be prevented with the help of maintenance therapy, while high ones indicate a multiple pregnancy or a bladder drift (formation of an unviable zygote). The definition of early pregnancy by this method is important for couples who have problems with conception for more than a year. In case if the fertilization has occurred and the blood level of the gonadotropin shows this, the doctors will prescribe supportive therapy.
  3. Ultrasound is another way that pregnancy can be identified in the early stages. Usually, at significant levels of gonadotropin in the uterus, one can already discern a fetal egg that has a size of only two millimeters. If the fetal egg is not found, then an ectopic pregnancy is suspected.
  4. Feel. The female body becomes very sensitive during pregnancy. Some women can not determine pregnancy in the early stages of their feelings, and some clearly understand that something is going wrong with their body. Indicators that indicate pregnancy: a persistent increase in basal temperature, tenderness of the mammary glands, the appearance of a scarlet blood drop on the lining in the second half of the cycle without subsequent bleeding (a relative symptom, as it may also indicate a miscarriage that has begun, but then menstruation will follow), nausea, Unsharp pain in the uterus and ovaries, light watery discharge, as in ovulation.
  5. The latter method - gynecological examination, as a rule, is done after the appearance of clear signs of pregnancy. In this case, doctors note a small increase in the size of the uterus, softening its edges and a bluish tinge of the cervix.

The definition of pregnancy in the early stages is usually not the reason for registration, since in the first month the failures are most frequent, but after ten weeks it can be more confidently said that the pregnancy took place.
